Hey, I think you're super!2
Love your profile!1

I was born in Flatlands, Brooklyn, NY (I remember riding the trolley and seeing the Easter Bunny at Macy's), but grew up and live in CT, USA. I went to Indiana State University, Terre Haute, IN, and got my Masters' Degree at Liberty, Lynchberg, VA.

I love to knit, write (esp. poetry), cook (esp. Italian and Chinese) - and watch CSI Miami (must see). Oh, yes, I'm also a chocoholic and a cheesoholic, "The value of any food is directly proportional to how much cheese it will hold." So, obviously, if I really like it, it has too many calories!

I have a handsome husband (also a CSI: Miami fan), 2 dogs (a husky ***** [they ***** out the right word for a female canine, a b with an itch; goodness, now that I've said that I am picturing an itchy bumblebee trying to scratch itself!] and a samoyed dog) and 2 (I'm updating; one of my 3 birds has died) birds - and mother everyone and everything. If I see a cute animal, my husband will say, "No, you can't have one!" We have no children (I wanted a large family, but cannot have children), so the dogs and birds are our children. At ten o'clock Sumday evening, Sweety will call them, "Come on, kids, its time to visit with Uncle Horatio!" And, yes, one of the dogs, our husky (who, sadly, since I wrote this has died), actually watches televison, although her favorite is a single ice skater, and her attention is really strained after 4 minutes.
I really like to sing (mind you, I did not say I sing well), and go around singing, humming, or thinking tunes, most of the time.

Other programs I like to watch: CSI:NY, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Hawaii Five 0, sometimes the original CSI, but I don't think it's nearly as good, and I really think I like the new NCIS. I also like Law and Order (all of them, although I seldom watch them), and I like to watch Jay Leno, esp. when he has animals on the show. I was very sorry, however, when Jay moved to 10 p.m.; he's now back on at 11:00 and my Sweet is in watching (which I would be, if I we're typing this for all of you).

My favorite author is Jane Austin, closely followed by Emmuska Orczy, Charles Dickens, C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling, and I must not forget William Shakespeare.

I am a country music fan, especially the Statler Brothers, Johnny Cash, Tommy Cash, Randy Travis, Slim Whitman, and I also really like Roy Orbison, although he's not considered country, and early Beatles.
As a kid, I dreamed of being the mother of twelve (before I realized how much work children are), being an actress (not allowed to even be thought of in our home), and being a poet. I remember telling my mother I had to become a famous poet so I could be eccentric, instead of just weird. Of course, my husband says, "Everyone is weird, it's just a matter of in what way and to what degree."

My all time favorite DVD is Les Miserables (musical), although it was not one of my favorite books; I also like most of my favorite books done as movies, such as Emma, Persuasion, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Oliver Twist, Northanger Abbey, David Copperfield (either with Maggie Smith or W.C. Fields), Tale of Two Cities, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, etc., and I really like romantic comedies, such as You've Got Mail, the Prince and Me, etc., and I must not forget Fiddler on the Roof! One thing I require for a book or movie to be a favorite: it must have a happy ending! And, yes, I often skip ahead to see if the book ends well.
The last book I have read wasAline, Duchess of Romanones' The Earth Rests Lightly, and am now reading The Well Mannered Assasin, by the same author.Well, in my previous update I told you that I was looking forward to seeingThe Blind Side. well, I have finally seen it — about 4 (or is it 5?) times. I think I'm going to have to buy it! It is the best movie I've seen in a long, long time!

Last time I wrote: Last time I updated, I wrote, "Autumn has come, and with it cool weather, knitting weather, so I will soon be starting to knit a navy blue sweater vest for a Christmas gift." Well, it's still not done. I thought it was almost done and I realized today that I have got to rip. Well, I have had to rip again! I think I have it right this time. Time (and some more knitting) will tell. I'll be glad to get it finished. I hope I can get it done before the hot weather hits! Well, I wrote this paragraph last autumn, and the sweater is still sitting, I really must try and get it finished!

One of my favorite memories from when I was in my late teens: My mother looked at me very seriously, and said very deliberately, "I have to ask you a very serious question. It's a question mothers have been asking their daughters from the dawn of time. (pause) Whatever are we going to fix for dinner?" I still laugh when I remember it.

My favorite color is pink, second purple, third aqua. If you know about having your colors done, I am a Winter. Color is important to me.

I believe Man's chief purpose is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever.

I really hope I have not confused you with my updates!)
