Love and Caine Introduction.
Lt, Caine has always had a dark and mysterious life. Happiness was always at his grasped but alluded him in devastation of loss. This story will bring you full circle to who Lt. Caine is and help you understand that Love is always a cross for him to bare.
Love and Caine Part 1
Horatio had just left the Medical Examiner, he finally closed a case that the team was working over time on. All he wanted was to go home and relax.
"Horatio, are you leaving?" Calleigh asked him as he turned to her and nodded his head! "Why whats up?" Horatio asked her puzzled to the question she was asking without asking.
"Oh I thought maybe you wanted to get something to eat and talk?" Calleigh asked hoping he would say yes.
"Well....Ok! anyone else joining us?" Horatio asked as she smiled and said "No! just us!" Horatio did not spend a lot of time on why she wanted to have dinner he just went with it.
'I just need to get my bag. meet you down stairs in a sec!" Calleigh said running to the locker room.
"No problem, take your time." Horatio said smiling at her running down the hall.
Horatio pushed the elevator button, just then Jesse walked up! "Headed home H." Jesse said as he stood next to Horatio.
"Something like that!!" Horatio said as he got on the elevator. "Long day, I am beat I need to get some zzzzzz's" Jesse said walking also in the elevator.
"Sounds good! You can never get enough sleep!" Horatio said as the elevator to the lobby open and Calleigh was coming out of the stair well.
"Well have a good night see you in the morning." Horatio said looking up at Calleigh and holding the door open for her as they walked out to his car.
Jesse viewed them as he walked to his car, Horatio car was just at the end of the landing on the left side of the building.
"Well Good night!" Jesse said getting into his car! "Good night Jesse!" Calleigh said smiling up at him and getting into Horatio car as he held the door open for her.
"Ok! Where to for dinner?" Horatio asked her.
"What about the Miami Cu sine in South Beach?" Calleigh suggested.
"Great choice....." Horatio said pulling away from Miami Dade.
"Horatio placed some music in the MP3 Player, Calleigh laughed as she realized what was playing.." "I know this is not yours, who gave you this?" Calleigh asked laughing out loud. "What you don't think I would listen to this?" Horatio said smiling at her comment. "No! Kyle added these tunes didn't he?" Calleigh said as Horatio started to laugh and say "yeah, he did before he left for the middle east! he thought it would be a great way to stay connected to him! It kind of grows on you, I like it!" Horatio said as they pulled into the restaurants parking lot!
"You miss him don't you?" Calleigh said as the mood turned a little melancholy. "I do, I think about him all the time, what he is doing and if he is safe!" Horatio said.
Calleigh tried to make him feel better by saying. " If he is anything like his father he will be!" She grabbed his arm as they both walked into the restaurant.
"Lt, Caine how are you?" The owner walked up and greeted him!
"Doing great, Miguel how is the family?" Horatio responded back.
"All is well, Ernesto started College this year!" Miguel said smiling and walking him to his table. Horatio had requested a table that would be close to viewing things inside the restaurant, you could never be to careful out.
He pulled out Calleigh chair as she sat down! "Such a beautiful lady, are you are detective also?" Miguel asked Calleigh..." I am, and thank you!" Calleigh said sitting down.
"Well, is there anyone who do not know you?" Calleigh asked Horatio.
"You know the answer to that, We are very high profile Miami loves us and Loves to hate us." Horatio said as he looked at the menu!
"Dont' I know that all to well, Horatio!" Calleigh said as they both ordered dinner.
"I know you are wondering why I asked you out tonight?" Calleigh said looking up at him! "It did come cross my mind!" Horatio said looking back at her.
"You know I think the world of you Horatio, You are like my father and best friend. I just thought that you and I could sit down and talk about you!" Calleigh said waiting for the hammer to fall.
