Only Time Will Tell by maui_mandy85This is a featured page

Eric has been found and the bullet removed. Now the team holds vigil, with Horatio and Calleigh at the hospital, willing him to wake up. Everyone, except Horatio it seems, was shocked when they were told that any decisions regarding Eric's care were to be made by Calleigh. The question on everyone's minds is "Why Calleigh?" Calleigh is sitting at Eric's bedside, holding his hand and quietly willing him to open his eyes. Alexx walks in to check on her "babies."

Calleigh: (holding Eric's hand between hers, rubbing it absently; whispering) C'mon, Eric. Wake up. Open your eyes for me, please. (barely holding back tears)
Alexx: (walking in; sees Calleigh pleading with an unconscious Eric; goes to her) Calleigh...(no response) Calleigh, baby. (touches Calleigh's shoulder)
Calleigh: (jumps a little, then settles when she realizes it's Alexx) Alexx. I didn't hear you come in.
Alexx: You wouldn't have, the way you were pleading with Eric to wake up. (keeping a hand on Calleigh's shoulder and stroking her hair with the other)
Calleigh: (tearing up) We can't lose him, Alexx. Not like this.
Alexx: (looking beyond the words for the real reason for the tears) Calleigh, honey. (sits next to Calleigh and turns Calleigh's head so she can see her eyes) What's really behind these tears, baby? (wipes the tears away, only to have them replaced by more)
Calleigh: Alexx, I put him here. I shot him!
Alexx: Oh, baby! It was an accident. There's no way you could've known he was the one driving that car.
Calleigh: But...(turning away from Alexx)
Alexx: No buts. (turning Calleigh back to her) Ryan told me what happened.
Calleigh: (crying) If I had only realized it sooner...
Alexx: (semi-sternly) Calleigh, Eric is alive. Now you have to give him a reason to wake up. You need to be strong for him, baby.
Calleigh: Alexx, I...I don't know if I can do what he wants if it comes to that. I can't make that choice.
Alexx: (intrigued, as are the others, as to why Eric put his power of attorney in Calleigh's hands) Why did Eric leave the decision to you instead of his parents?
Calleigh: (slightly dodging the question) He's my best friend. I figured that after Marisol, he didn't want to put that on his parents.
Alexx: (not believing this explanation for a second) Baby, what's the real reason? (talking to Calleigh's back now that she has turned back to face Eric) I know you two as well as if you were my own kids, Calleigh.
Calleigh: (looking at Eric and squeezing his hand; willing him to squeeze back) I love him, Alexx. (tears falling silently) I love him so much.
Alexx: (slightly shocked by the outright response, but not at the response itself) Honey, tell me something I don't know.
Calleigh: (shocked; turning to look at Alexx) You knew? How? I mean, we never...
Alexx: (smiling as Calleigh stumbles over the revelation) Baby, he almost NEVER left your side when you were in here. I almost had to kick him out of the ER when they brought you in.
Calleigh: (remembering waking up with Eric at her side) That was the day he told me...(tearing up) that he couldn't imagine his life without me. (letting the tears fall) I never told him how much that meant to me, Alexx.
Alexx: (squeezing Calleigh's shoulder) Tell him now, Baby Girl. Give him something to fight for. (stroking Calleigh's hair) I'll be outside if you need me. (walks out)
Calleigh: (rubbing Eric's hand between hers; then standing and leaning closer to his head) I love you, Eric. Come back to me...please. (pauses to squeeze his hand) Wake up Eric. Open your eyes for me. (brings his hand to her cheek; squeezes again) I love you.

Unbeknownst to Calleigh, Horatio has joined Alexx outside and has witnessed the entire confession. He, like Alexx, is not at all surprised by it- just by the intensity of it.

Alexx: Horatio...(questioningly, to gauge his response to this revelation)
Horatio: (looking at Alexx, then through the window again to his CSIs) I think I understand now.
Alexx: (smirking at him) I think you always knew. (seriously) Now, what do you do about it, Horatio?
Horatio: (watching Calleigh with Eric) Time will tell, Alexx. Time will tell.

As Calleigh keeps vigil at Eric's side, Ryan and Natalia take over tracking down the stolen arsenal from the armory.

Ryan: (running dash cam footage with Dave in AV) I wish we would get just one plate...just one could lead us to the Russians.
Dave: Well, we've only just started on the dash cams. How many squad cars were at the scene?
Ryan: Four, I think. I'm not sure which ones had good angles, though.
Dave: Well, we'll just go frame by frame then. (pause) Anything on Eric?
Ryan: (quietly) Nothing new. He's still in a coma...Calleigh said she'd let us know as soon as there's a change.
Dave: (shuffling through the photos) She's been at the hospital for hours now.
Ryan: Yeah...uh, H is letting her stay there...she's positive that she hit Eric, and she's feelin' really guilty right now.
Dave: WOW. That's tough...shooting someone you've worked with for so long. (looking at Ryan) They've always been pretty tight, right?
Ryan: (awkward silence, considering his suspicions) Yeah. (pauses; then takes up the controls) Let's find these guys.

Elsewhere in the lab, Natalia is getting a handle on what was in the armory.

Natalia: Oh my God. We had enough weapons in the armory to outfit three small countries!
Frank: Yeah. That's almost every weapon ever taken in to evidence or confiscated since Horatio took over as head of CSI.
Natalia: WOW. That's just...(speechless)
Frank: Insane? Yeah.
Natalia: Do we know what portion of this the Russians got away with?
Frank: Not yet. There's a few uniforms down there checking the "inventory", but it could be awhile. There were only two vans at the armory. (pauses as he scans the list over her shoulder) I'm guessin' that the Russians were only after the weapons we confiscated from Sarnov's organization.
Natalia: Let's hope so. Otherwise, we're gonna have some serious problems.

Back in AV, Ryan and Dave are working on dash cam #3. Yelina, still slightly in shock after her ordeal with Sarnov and Gregor, walks in.

Yelina: Ryan. (stepping up behind Ryan and Dave)
Ryan: (turning; surprised) Detective Salas.
Yelina: (motioning to the photos onscreen) Are those from the armory shooting?
Ryan: Um, yeah. (gets an idea) Maybe you can help us.
Yelina: What do you need?
Ryan: Well, you were undercover in Sarnov's organization, right? (Yelina nods) Do you recognize anyone? Anyone look familiar?
Yelina: (studying a few of the photos) No one up there. Are there more?
Ryan: Yeah...well, if you have the time.
Yelina: (looking at him with a determined expression on her face) Anything I can do to help you catch them before they put those weapons on the street.
Ryan: Great. (pulls a chair up for her) Let's nail these guys.

At Dade Memorial, Alexx and Horatio keep an eye on Calleigh, who has refused to leave Eric's side. They watch as she continues pleading with him to fight.

Alexx: (with a worried expression on her face) Horatio, she's exhausted. It's been almost 12 hours.
Horatio: I know. (rubbing a hand over his tired face) I don't know what to say to her.
Alexx: We have to do something. She's dead on her feet, and she hasn't eaten anything since you brought him in...She won't leave until he opens his eyes, Horatio.
Horatio: Maybe we should get something to eat.
Alexx: (looking at him and seeing the fatigue in his eyes) Why don't I go? You should think about getting some rest yourself.
Horatio: (smiles weakly) I will, Alexx.

Alexx heads off in search of food, and Horatio weighs his options in dealing with his assistant supervisor. Finally coming up with a game plan, he quietly enters the room and pulls up a chair next to Calleigh.

Horatio: (softly) Calleigh. (no response) Calleigh, listen to me. Eric wouldn't want you to neglect yourself. You need to be strong when he wakes up.
Calleigh: (finally looking at Horatio) I can't go until I know he's gonna come out of this. (tears falling silently) This is my fault. I should've trusted him to do the right thing.
Horatio: There was no way for us to know what Eric was going to do. You can't blame yourself for not anticipating every angle...Have you been able to reach the Delkos?
Calleigh: They're out of town. I called Carmen's cell phone and left a message for them to call me as soon as possible. (wiping her eyes) I've left two more messages since he's been out of surgery.
Horatio: Calleigh, I know what Eric means to you.
Calleigh: (looking up at Horatio, shocked) What?!
Horatio: (avoiding eye contact) I've seen the two of you together. There's a connection between you that won't easily be broken. And you both deserve to be happy.
Calleigh: (confused) Horatio, what about department policy? We both know Rick Stetler will have a field day with this if anyone finds out.
Horatio: (looking at her) Is that really your only concern, Calleigh?
Calleigh: No...(quietly) I'm afraid Eric won't trust me after this. I should've been there for him- instead I preached at him! Maybe if I had listened to him, he would've told me what he was going to do.
Horatio: Then we would've lost you both. (putting a hand on her shoulder) Leave Stetler to me. I want you to focus on taking care of yourself so you can be here for Eric. (smiles) I can't think of anyone he'd like here more than you. (standing) Hang in there, Calleigh. (walks out)

Back at the lab, Natalia has a report from the uniforms who checked the armory "inventory".

Frank: (walking in as Natalia starts comparing lists) What've you got?
Natalia: I think you were right, Frank. The Russians were only after Sarnov's weapons. (frowning as she speaks)
Frank: Well, that's good news, isn't it? (confused by her reaction)
Natalia: (looking up at him) Not necessarily. We still don't know where the Russians are. These weapons could be anywhere.
Frank: What's Wolfe working on?
Natalia: Ryan's trying to get some idea as to where they could be hiding. He's down in AV going over dash cam footage with Dave.
Frank: (sarcastically) And that's gonna help us how?
Natalia: Why don't we go check it out?

In AV, Ryan, Dave and Yelina have made headway on the dash cam footage, but are slowly getting discouraged by the lack of clues to the Russians' whereabouts.

Dave: (manning the controls) Okay, this is the last dash cam.
Ryan: (defeated) And we haven't found anything in the first three.
Dave: (trying to be optimisitc) That's not entirely true. (looking over at Ryan, then back up at the screen) We've gotten a couple of partial plates that we can run through the DMV. It's a start. (continues going through the photos)
Yelina: (watching the screen intently; finally spotting a face) Dave, wait a minute. Could you go back to that last frame?
Dave: Sure. (reverses the frame and freezes)
Yelina: I know him.
Ryan: Really?
Yelina: Well, I recognize him from the bar. He's been in there a lot the last few weeks.
Dave: (to Ryan) You wanna run it through facial recognition?
Ryan:Yeah...and I guess we should run those partial plates, too. (to Yelina) That was great. Thanks.
Yelina: Glad I could help. (walks out)
Dave: Okay. I got somethin'. (reading results) Sergei Milanovich...and he's red-flagged by Interpol.
Ryan: Not surprising. (running the partial plates through DMV records) Dave, I think we just got lucky. One of the partial plates is from a black Dodge cargo van, like the ones at the shooting. It's registered to...a Mikhail Milanovich. (Natalia and Frank walk in)
Natalia: Hey Ryan. Did you guys get anything from the dash cams?
Ryan: We just got a couple of leads...thanks to Yelina.
Frank: She was here?
Ryan: Yeah. She just left. So...we've got two possilbe links to Sarnov's organization: Sergei and Mikhail Milanovich.
Frank: Brothers?
Ryan: Cousins, I think.
Natalia: Is there an address?
Dave: 1650 Brickell Avenue, Miami.
Ryan: (to Natalia) What'd you get on the weapons?
Natalia: They were only after the weapons we confiscated from Sarnov.
Ryan: Let's check this place out. (following Natalia and Frank out) Thanks, Dave.

Back at Dade General, Alexx has just returned with food.

Alexx: (walking over to Horatio) So much for getting some rest, huh? (following his gaze)
Horatio: (looking in at Calleigh) She just put her head down. (Calleigh is still holding Eric's hand, even in sleep)
Alexx: (taking his arm) You need to eat. (pulls him to where she's set the food) And then you're going to rest. Doctor's orders.
Horatio: (almost mockingly) Yes, ma'am.
Alexx: (handing him a sandwich and looking up at the woman approaching them) Then again, maybe not.
Horatio: (follows her gaze over his shoulder and nods slightly at the woman) Thank you, Alexx. Excuse me. (meets the woman at the door) Yelina.
Yelina: (concerned after seeing his face) Horatio, are you okay?
Horatio: I'm...I'm fine. How are you?
Yelina: I'm...good. (Horatio gives her "the look") A little rattled...(the look again) Okay...I'm more than a little rattled. (quietly) How's Eric?
Horatio: He's...hanging in there. (looking through the window)
Yelina: (following his gaze, lingering on Calleigh and Eric's joined hands) And Calleigh?
Horatio: She's trying to be strong. (watches as Calleigh squeezes Eric's hand in her sleep)
Yelina: They've found it, haven't they? (Horatio looks at her expectantly) That...connection between two people that links them to each other forever. The connection we never could...
Horatio: Yelina...
Yelina: Why haven't we ever been able to get past this?
Horatio: I...I don't know.
Yelina: Horatio...I'm sorry. This is neither the time nor the place. (looking him in the eye) You'll let me know about Eric?
Horatio: (nodding) Yes...Yelina? (as she turns to leave) Can we talk later?
Yelina: (considers) Sure...You could...come by the house. Ray Jr. would love to see you.
Horatio: Okay. I'll call you. (she nods and leaves)
Alexx: (joining him at the window) What was that about?
Horatio: Umm...unfiinshed business.
Alexx: (looking through the window at Calleigh, who is waking up) I'm gonna try getting her to eat. (going into the room) Calleigh, honey?
Calleigh: Alexx. You're still here.
Alexx: Of course...I brought you something to eat. It's...(interrupted by Calleigh's phone vibrating)
Calleigh: (checking the display) It's Eric's mom. (instantly nervous)
Alexx: (waving Calleigh out of the room) Go on. I'll sit with him until you come back.
Calleigh: But...
Alexx: (seeing Calleigh's nervousness) It'll be fine, honey. They need someone who cares to tel them what's going on. (Calleigh nods and goes out to take the call)
Calleigh: Hello?
Carmen: (questioningly) Ms. Duquesne?
Calleigh: Yes, Mrs. Delko, but please call me Calleigh.
Carmen: Of course...Your message sounded urgent. Is something wrong?
Calleigh: Mrs. Delko, I have some bad news...about Eric.
Carmen: What?! What's wrong? Where is he?
Calleigh: Mrs. Delko...he was involved in a shooting.
Carmen: Oh my God! Is he...?
Calleigh: No, no! Mrs. Delko, he's at Dade General Hospital. His condition is stable, but he's been in a coma since he got out of surgery.
Carmen: Oh dear God!
Calleigh: Mrs. Delko, Lieutenant Caine and I have been here with him since he was brought in. He's in very good hands.
Carmen: Can we see him?
Calleigh: Yes...(Carment cuts her off)
Carmen: We'll be right there...and Calleigh?
Calleigh: Yes, ma'am?
Carmen: Thank you. (hangs up)

Fifteen minutes later, Calleigh has resumed her position at Eric's bedside. Mr. and Mrs. Delko have just arrived from Miami International Airport.

Carmen: (from the doorway to the waiting room, tentatively) Horatio?
Horatio: (turning from his post at the window) Carmen...Pavel.
Pavel: What happened, Horatio?
Horatio: He was involved in a shooting. (Alexx joins them) This is Dr. Alexx Woods. I'll let her explain.
Alexx: The trauma shifted the bullet fragment in his head and he suffered another superficial bullet wound. They've already taken care of the bullet fragment...He just needs to wake up on his own.
Pavel: What about brain damage? (Carmen moves to the window)
Alexx: The preliminary scans show no significant damage or trauma, but we won't be sure until he wakes up and another scan can be done.
Pavel: Thank you, Doctor.
Carmen: Can I sit with him? (Her back to them)
Alexx: Certainly. (Carmen opens the door and listens as Calleigh talks to Eric)
Calleigh: Your parents are on their way. I finally got in touch with them...They're worried about you. (takes his hand) Wake up, Eric. I need you to wake up.
Carmen: (quietly) You must be Calleigh.
Calleigh: (startled) Mrs. Delko! I didn't hear you come in. I'll...I'll step outside so you can have some time with...(standing)
Carmen: There's no need for that. (waving Calleigh back into her chair) Please, sit.
Calleigh: Oh. Um...okay. (fidgeting through the awkward silence)
Carmen: (stroking Eric's head) I didn't quite put together your name and the woman that Eric talks about.
Calleigh: He talks about me?
Carmen: All the time. 'Calleigh found this', 'Calleigh helped me with that...'. You've been such a good friend to my son. (finally turning to look at Calleigh) But it's more than that now, isn't it? (no response) I've never seen him so...dedicated to something, to someone, except for his sisters.
Calleigh: I...I didn't know that. I...I don't know what to say.
Carmen: You are very special to him, Calleigh.
Calleigh: (quietly) He's...very special to me too, Mrs. Delko.
Carmen: Carmen, please. (studying Calleigh's face) Have you rested at all since he's been here?
Calleigh: I'm fine, really. I slept for a bit earlier...(Carmen clearly doesn't believe her) I'll be fine.

Ryan, Natalia and Frank, with six uniformed officers, approach the suspected house on Brickell Avenue, and find a black van parked in the back alley.

Frank: (checking the plates on the van) This is one of the vans from the shooting. (waves over two of the uniforms)
Natalia: So we're in the right place.
Frank: I hope so. (to the uniforms) On three...(counts on his fingers, then the uniforms pull open the doors and reveal several boxes of weapons) We're definitely in the right place.
Ryan: (heading up the back steps; to two uniforms) Cover the front. (they get into position) Miami Dade PD! Open up!

Noises are heard inside the house. Through the window, Ryan sees two suspects attempting to flee. He kicks the door in as the first suspect reaches the front door. The uniforms in front grab the suspect as Ryan takes down the second and cuffs him.

Ryan: You're under arrest...(finishes the Miranda; to Frank) Let's haul 'em in, Frank.
Frank: You got it. (following the two suspects and three uniforms outside)
Natalia: (holstering her gun) Ryan, let's check out the rest of this place...See if we can't get some idea where they would put the rest of the arsenal.
Ryan: I'll go call in for the tow truck to pick up the van, and bring in the kits.

Back at the lab after a thorough inspection of the house, Ryan and Frank double team Suspect #1, identified as Mikhail Milanovich, while Natalia starts analysis on some "out of place" evidence found in the house. Suspect #2, identified as Nikolai Petrov, is being held in a separate interview room.

Ryan: So Mikhail, where's Sergei hiding?
Mikhail: (thickly accented) Don't know. No tell nothing.
Frank: You really expect us to believe that, cowboy? If that were true, why'd you try to run?
Mikhail: Scared. You catch, they kill.
Ryan: Wait a minute- they're gonna kill you because we arrested you?
Mikhail: Like Ivan...Dead.
Ryan: So help us catch them so we can put them away where they can't hurt you.
Mikhail: Don't know...location. Cannot tell.
Frank: Can't tell or won't tell?
Mikhail: Know nothing. I swear! (panicked)
Ryan: Okay. Okay. (passing a pad and pen to Mikhail) I want names. Anyone you've had contact with, anyone involved in the armory shooting or with moving the weapons. (walks out)
Frank: (to Mikhail) Let's go- start writin'.
Ryan: (in Interview #2, to Nikolai) Nikolai. Where's Sergei? (no response) What'd they promise you? Money, status in the Brotherhood? What?!
Nikolai: (thick Russian accent) Does it matter? I am dead either way.
Ryan: (sarcastically) Oh, that's right. The death gag order- you got caught, so now you die.
Nikolai: All I control now is how I die...by what means.
Ryan: So why not give us something on them? Tell us where they're hiding.
Nikolai: What purpose would that serve for me? There is already a target on my head. Nothing I tell you will change that. (Natalia waves to get Ryan's attention)
Ryan: Now I guess you won't find out. (stands up and walks out, as an officer takes Nikolai to booking)
Natalia: I've got another location. The muddy footprints in the house...
Ryan: Where?
Natalia: Port of Miami. I'm thinking they aren't stupid enough to use Sarnov's storage unit, but they'll be close by. (walking with him to the elevator)
Ryan: We're close, Natalia. I'll call Horatio.

At the hospital, Horatio, Pavel and Alexx continue waiting for any signs of improvement. Carmen now sits watching over Eric and Calleigh, who she has finally convinced to sleep on the cot that was brought in- with the promise to awaken her at the slightest change in Eric.

Alexx: Horatio, has there been any news from Ryan?
Horatio: Not yet, Alexx. (phone rings) Hang on. (answering) Mr. Wolfe?
Ryan: H, we picked up two of the Russians and maybe a third of the weapons stolen from the armory. We just got a lead on the rest.
Horatio: Where?
Ryan: Port of Miami...
Horatio: I'll meet you there. (hangs up) We may have something.
Pavel: You've found the scum that's responsible for my son being here?
Horatio: I don't know for sure yet, Pavel. But I'm going to find out. (heading out)
Alexx: (calling after him) Horatio, be careful.

Meanwhile, in Eric's room:

Calleigh: (as Carmen finishes humming a Spanish lullaby) That's beautiful.
Carmen: (startled) Oh my- I didn't mean to wake you.
Calleigh: It's a side effect of being in law enforcement- I'm a light sleeper. (sitting up) I've never heard that tune before. What is it?
Carmen: It's a lullaby I used to sing to Eric and his sisters when they were babies. I doubt he'd remember it now. I...(stops as Eric's hand tightens over hers, then releases) Eric?
Calleigh: (standing to join Carmen at Eric's side) Carmen?
Carmen: He squeezed my hand. Eric? Squeeze my hand again, mi hijo...(Eric squeezes again, stronger this time; Callleigh sees it)
Calleigh: (at the door) Alexx! Quick!
Pavel: What is it?
Calleigh: I think he's pulling out of it! He squeezed Carmen's hand!
Alexx: (at Eric's other side) Calleigh, baby, get one of the nurses to page Dr. Jacobs. (Calleigh goes; leaning over Eric) Eric, honey? It's Alexx. Can you hear me?
Pavel: Carmen, let's give the doctor some space. (gently pulling Carmen out to the waiting room as Dr. Jacobs and a couple of nurses rush in)
Carmen: Where is Horatio, Pavel? (sitting next to him as Calleigh enters the room)
Pavel: He went to meet the team that's looking for the people that put our boy here. He'll let us know when they find anything.

As Calleigh and the Delkos wait for the doctors to finish checking on Eric, Horatio pulls up next to the group of police vehicles at the Port of Miami. Ryan approaches to brief him on the current situation.

Ryan: H!
Horatio: Mr. Wolfe...
Ryan: We've narrowed down the possibilities to the last five units at the end. They're close enough to Sarnov's own storage unit without being obvious and they're the only ones with recent leases. (quietly) Any change?
Horatio: (hesitantly) Not when I left...Okay, how many officers do we have to work with? (Frank and Natalia walk over)
Ryan: I was able to scramble about 15 off-duty patrol for the searches.
Frank: We've got another 20 combined on-duty and ATF. I called in a favor.
Horatio: Okay. Wolfe, take six and check out the closest unit. Frank, you and Ms. Boa Vista take five and check the one next to that. Put two groups of seven on the other two units, with someone from ATF on point for each team. I'll take the last group and check the one nearest to Sarnov's. And everyone...be careful. (Ryan's team enters a unit)
Natalia: You too, Horatio. (moves to join Frank)
Ryan: (on the walkie) Unit #1, clear.
Horatio: (heading to the last unit, on the walkie) Join up with the ATF teams.
Ryan: On it, H. (the teams keep searching; after radio silence for ten minutes)
ATF #1: Storage Unit #3, clear. This one's got small moving boxes.
ATF#2: Unit #4, clear.
Frank: Horatio, Unit #2 is empty. We're headed your way.
Horatio: Okay. (to his team) On three. (counting down; motioning to move in)

The unit in front of Horatio's team is by far the largest of the suspected units, almost the size of a full warehouse. At his signal, and after a scan for trip wires, etc., two patrolmen move in the push up the door. Inside, mixed with large shipping crates, are the weapons crates. Off to one side, in plain sight, not one but two black cargo vans are parked with doors wide open. Then chaos erupts as two men appear from the back of the unit.

Patrolman Diego: Miami Dade PD! (shots fired, bringing out a dozen other gun-toting men)
Horatio: Take cover! (ducking to dodge bullets)
Ryan: (appearing at his side with Frank and Natalia not far behind) Sergei Milanovich's gotta be in there! (searching quickly, then finding his quarry, points) There! That's who we want!
Horatio: Let's take'm!

The collective team surges into the warehouse and after some very intense exchange, the Brotherhood members are brought out in cuffs and taken to MDPD. Half of the search team stays to collect the stolen weapons and take everything back to be logged. At the lab, Natalia cross checks everything recovered with the original missing inventory list.

Horatio: (walking in as Natalia finishes with a crate) How are we doing?
Natalia: So far, everything is checking out.
Horatio: Have we been able to find any prints on the weapons or the crates?
Natalia: I haven't found anything yet. Is there something in particular...? (stops as Horatio's phone rings and he checks the ID)
Horatio: No...just let me know if you find anything, okay? (turning to walk out and answering the phone) Calleigh? (indistinct chatter on the other end) I'll be right there. (hanging up)
Natalia: Horatio?
Horatio: (deep breath) He's awake.
Natalia: (sigh of relief) Oh, thank God!...I'll get any information to you as soon as I get it, Horatio.
Horatio: Thank you.

In interview, Ryan and Frank double team Sergei to get the name of whoever is taking over as head of Sarnov's organization and the Brotherhood.

Ryan: Who takes over now that Sarnov and Gregor are dead? Who gains from taking on the operations?
Sergei: Glupi Tolchok! (Stupid Jerk!) Why should I tell you anything?
Frank: You will if ya know what's good for ya! Or would you rather take the rap for someone else's screw ups?
Sergei: You have nothing on me!
Ryan: (showing him a file folder) We may not have anything...but Interpol's got a lot a of bones to pick with you. They can't wait to get their hands on you. (phone rings in his pocket; text message notification)
Sergei: (unconcerned) What can they do to me? (smirking)
Ryan: (reading his message) I guess you'll find out. (to Frank) Toss him in holding until his ride gets here.
Frank: You got it. (Ryan walks out) Let's go scumbag. (pulls Sergei up roughly)
Sergei: Slaboumni Durak! (Stupid Idiot!)
Ryan: (on the phone) Natalia, you're sure?
Natalia: Yeah. I got tons of prints, but none of them are Sharova's He was there, but he didn't touch anything. His story holds up.
Ryan: That's great news. Thanks.
Natalia: Hey, Ryan...Horatio left about ten minutes ago. Calleigh called.
Ryan: What's the news?
Natalia: Eric's awake.
Ryan: That's great! Hey, I'll be there in a minuted to help you with the rest of the evidence. (hangs up with a smile on his face)

At the hospital, the crowd in the waiting room grows. Pavel, Carmen and Calleigh have been joined by Alexx and Horatio. Yelina walks in and takes a seat next to Horatio just as Dr. Jacobs enters the room.

Dr. Jacobs: (smiling) Well, he's certainly got quite the support group!
Pavel: How is he, Doctor?
Dr. Jacobs: Well, Mr. Delko...The results aren't definite yet, but as far as I can tell, there's no permanent damage. He's still a little groggy, and he may tire easily, but I believe he'll make a complete recovery.
Carmen: Oh thank you! (everyone heaves a collective sigh of relief) Can we see him?
Dr. Jacobs: (nodding) They're bringing him back up from CT now.
Pavel: Thank you, Doctor.
Dr. Jacobs: You're welcome. If you'll excuse me... (walks out)

As they wait for Eric, Carmen takes Calleigh's hand and squeezes reassuringly. Calleigh smiles slightly, then sinks back into quiet thoughtfulness. Alexx gets paged and leaves, and Yelina hesitantly takes Horatio's hand in hers. Eric is finally wheeled back into his room and settled before the transporters leave. Pavel and Carmen are the first to go in.

Pavel: (approaching the bed) Son?
Eric: Dad. (regretfully) I'm so sorry!
Carmen: Sorry for what, mi hijo? (taking his hand)
Eric: Mommy...for putting you through this.
Pavel: It's all right, son. We're just happy that you're okay.
Carmen: Horatio is outside. Dr. Woods was here, too.
Eric: What about...Is Calleigh...?
Carmen: She's outside, too. (squeezing his hand) She's been here the whole time.
Pavel: That young woman...She wouldn't leave your side, son.
Eric: I...(stumbling over how to ask them to leave so he can talk to Calleigh)
Carmen: (smiling) I'll go get her. (kissing his hand, then going to the door) Calleigh? (Calleigh lifts her head and looks at Carmen) He wants to see you. (Calleigh doesn't move, so Carmen walks over and offers a hand) Mi hija, he's asking for you. (Calleigh hesitates, then takes Carmen's hand and allows Carmen to lead her into the room)
Yelina: (quietly watching Calleigh; to Horatio) They're gonna make it. (smiling) They deserve it.
Horatio: (nodding) Yes...they do.

In the room, Carmen leads Calleigh to Eric's left side, where she'd kept vigil while he was unconscious.

Pavel: (looking at Carmen) We'll give you some privacy, son. (taking Carmen's hand and leading her outside)
Calleigh: (quietly) I'm glad you're okay. (not meeting his eyes)
Eric: Calleigh...look at me, please. (pleadingly)
Calleigh: (looking into his eyes) You had us all scared there, you know.
Eric: I'm sorry...for everything.
Calleigh: It's fine...as long as you're okay.
Eric: I'm okay, but that's because I heard you. (Calleigh looks up in shock) I heard everything you said. You kept me going. I couldn't...I couldn't let you down again.
Calleigh: You didn't let me down.
Eric: I think I did...because I didn't trust you to understand. I didn't think you'd understand what I was trying to do. Maybe...things could be different if I'd found another way.
Calleigh: (confused) What are ya talkin' about?
Eric: When you found my father's picture...yousaid you wouldn't watch me...watch me cross the line. (hesitantly) I crossed it.
Calleigh: You didn't cross the line, Eric.
Eric: But...I helped Sharova...
Calleigh: Sharova told Horatio that you were there to keep him from committing a crime. You were trying to do the right thing.
Eric: But...
Calleigh: (taking his hand and stroking his cheek) I'm not going anywhere. I meant what I said. (looking into his eyes) I love you, Eric.
Eric: (entwining his fingers with hers, then grinning and pulling her closer) Well, that's a relief...because I love you, too, Cal.
