Chapter 1
Calleigh had been studying striations in her ballistics lab when Eric walked in unoticed and put his arms around his girlfriend's waist. " Hey beautiful."' he said making Calleigh jump because she didnt know he was in here. "Hey, and dont you know to knock, or something." she said sarcasticaly. "I thought I'd surprise you." Eric says boyishly. Calleigh thinks his puppy dog face is adorable, and cant be mad at him for morwe than a second. "So you want to do dinner tonight?" he asked his girlfriend. "I'd love to but I 'm busy." she tells him, not wanting to tell him the real reason they hadnt had dinner togather all week. " What, you have another boyfrind. Tell me his name." Eric says sarcasticaly. Calleigh and Eric both laugh at this. "Come on Cal. We havent had dinner this whole week. Did I do something wrong?" Eric asks his girlfriend. "No you didnt do anything wrong. Uhm how bout you come over around 9ish." Calleigh tells him, hoping her little 2 year old will be asleep by then. "K, 9ish it is, I''l see you then beautiful. And with that Eric walks out of the room leaving Calleigh once again alone in her ballistics lab.

Chapter 2
Calleigh shift was over, she gathered her stuff and walked to her car. It took Calleigh 25 minutes to drive home tonight but that was probibly because she couldnt focus on the road. She dug into her purse looking for her key to the front door. "Ahh here they are." Calleigh said triumphanly. She put her key into the door and swung the front door open. A 2 year old with blond hair and green eyes ran to greet her. "Hi mommy." Emily said. "Hi sweet-pea. How was your day. "Good. Look what I made, mommy." her daughter says while holding a picture of a puppy out to her mom. "Aww, its great. I'll put it on my wall, in the bedroom." her mom says. "So what do you want for supper tonight sweetie?" Calleigh asked the happy little 2 year old. "Uhm.. I dont know." Emily tells her mom. "How about PB+J?" Calleigh asks her daughter. "Otay." Emily says. Calleigh finds it amusing how her 2 year old tries to pronounce some words.

Chapter 3
It is 8:30 and Calleigh is tucking Emily into her bed. "Sweet dreams baby." Calleigh tells her daughter as she places a kiss on her forhead. Eric is at home getting ready to go to Calleigh's place. Calleigh is done gettin ready and hears her doorbell ring. "I'm coming." she says quietly, making sure not to wake her daughter. "Hey Eric. Come in." she tells her boyfriend. "Wow Cal, you look beautiful." Eric says, not being able to keep his eyes off the dress she is wearing. "Thanks, you dont clean up that bad yourself." she tells him. About 20 minutes into their date, Eric hears crying. "Cal... uhm..?" Eric is left speachless. " Sorry about that. I'll be right back." Calleigh tells him and leaves the room. Calleigh enters her daughter's room. "Hey baby, what's wrong?" Calleigh asks picking up her daughter. Emily doesnt say a word, but just keeps crying. "Sweet heart, what's wrong. Come on you can tell me." Calleigh still doesnt get an answer from her daughter so she decides to check her tempeture by putting her hand on her forhead. "Oh sweetie, you're burning up." Calleigh says. Eric is still sitting on the couch waiting for Calleigh." Calleigh, is everything okay?" he asks."Uhhh yeah Eric ." Calleigh lied. Emily is still buring up, Calleigh cant avoid Eric the whole date and she cant just let her daughter here alone with a fever, so she deices to bring Emily into the living room. Eric sees Calleigh walking back with a small child in her arms. Eric looks so very confused right now." Eric, this is Emily. She is my 2 year old daughter." Calleigh told him. Eric's jaw dropped. "Well is she okay?" Eric asked, he's always loved kids. "I dont know." Calleigh replied while still bouncing Emily on her knee to try to stop her from crying. But the knee bouncing isnt working. Calleigh felt her head again to see if her fever had gone down, but it was just the oposite, her fever had gone up. "Eric she has a high fever. I think we should take her to the doctor." Calleigh told him. "Okay, I'll drive the hummer." Eric told her. Calleigh and Eric pull up into the hospital parking lot. They enter the reception area,"Cal, what's her doctor's name?" Eric asks her. "It's Dr. Greetan." Calleigh tells him. "I'm looking for a Dr. Greetan." Eric says loudly. "I'm doctor Greetan." a man says. "Hi Calleigh, what can I do for you today?" the man asks. "It's Emily, she has an unusualy high fever." Calleigh tells him while holding Emily. "Okay Calleigh, lets see what's wrong." Dr. Greetan says. Eric, Calleigh, and Emily walk into a room. The doctor checks out Emily and finnaly comes to a conclusion. "Well Calleigh it looks like she just has a little alergic reaction to something." the doctor says. "well do you know what from?" Calleigh asks. "It's from some kind of liquid, maybe some kind of a added ingrediant in her milk." the doctor tells her. "What do you mean some kind of ingrediant in her milk, she doesn't drink milk from anything but me." Calleigh told her doctor. "Hmh, that's strange. Well then I really don't know what caused the alergic reaction." the doctor tells Calleigh. after the problem with Emily was solved the doctor had taken cauriosity in the man with Calleigh. "So what's your name son?" the doctor asks Eric. "Eric, Eric Delko." he answers. The doctor is now looking at Calleigh. "So you got yourself a man, Callleigh?" he asks her. Calleigh is a little embarresed in this question. "Yes, I do, actually." Calleigh tells him.The doctor just nodds his head. Calleigh, Eric, and Emily leave the hospital and drive home.

Chapter 4
“So Cal, what ya want to do tonight?” Eric asked his girlfriend. “Well handsome I was kinda thinking we could just relax, watch a movie, and cuddle.” Calleigh told him. “Hmh I like that idea.” Eric said. He grabbed Calleigh by the waist and spun her around, then dipped her. Calleigh’s and his face met and she told him, “Ya know handsome, I love your brown eyes. And maybe tomorrow we could… oh I don’t know… spend some time with Emily, I mean she did just meet you and I’m sure she would like to get to know you better.” “I’d love to do that, and I love your emerald green eyes.” He told her. Eric brought Calleigh back up. Calleigh went into the kitchen to make some popcorn while Eric popped in a movie. Calleigh came back into the living room after the popcorn was done,” So what movie are we watching?” she asked him. “Well I just put in I’ll Love You Forever.” he told her. “Aw Eric you know I cry each time I watch that movie. It’s so sad.” Calleigh told him pouting, but meaning no sadness. “Sweet-heart I know, but I love it when you always end up leaning on my chest, and sobbing, then I always carry you into the bedroom.” he told her truthfully. Calleigh just kinda laughed at this. The movie started and they ate the popcorn and then it was late.

(still chapter 4, just a later time during the night)

The movie just ended, and Calleigh was fast asleep; must have been a hard day, Eric thought. He swept her up of the couch and walked about 4 feet when her eyes fluttered open, “Eric, what are you doing? You know I can walk right?” she asked him. “Well sweet-heart I was carrying my true love to her bedroom, just like Chase did in the movie.” He told her. “Oh I see, so then will his true love kiss him like she did, and will they live happily ever after with their child?” she asked him playfully. He looked at her and was tempted to kiss her, but only answered, “She will, they will, and maybe another child be on the way in the sequel of the movie.” He asked her. Calleigh who was now in the bedroom looked at him with her lips slightly apart, “Maybe.” She said still confused about the question. “Cal, you know I love children, and I know you love Emily so much. I don’t want to rush our relationship, so if the question seems far away then it will, and it can wait. We have all the time in the world if you want no rush.” he told her. “Eric I do love children too, it’s just I’d like to give Emily the attention my parents never gave me as a child, and I’d like for her to never have to be given the attention my parents gave me.” saying this brought back memories, unwanted memories. She shivered saying this, Eric saw it and noticed it was the only subject Calleigh hated to talk about with anyone, even Alexx. “Hey, Emily will never receive the attention your parents gave you, never will that happen, Cal. I won’t let it, and I’ve seen you with Em, you love her dearly and could never do that to her.” Eric told her truthfully. “Your right Eric, it’s just my childhood and Emily… I don’t want them to be anything a like.” She told him truthfully. “Cal, listen to me. They will not be anything a like.” He told her hoping she would understand that she would never do that to a child, even if the child was not her own. She just cuddled into his chest, “I know, I know.” She told him, and she really did, well at least now she did.

Chapter 5
The next morning Calleigh woke up before Eric. She had gotten to the bathroom door just when Emily started to cry, which meant she was waking up and would be hungry. Calleigh headed to the door and exited the bedroom and entered Emily’s room. “Hey sweet-pea, ya hungry?” Calleigh asked her daughter. Emily nodded her head slightly. “Okay then let’s get you up and out in the kitchen so I can feed you.” Calleigh was partly talking to herself. Calleigh lifted Emily out of her bed and walked to the kitchen with Emily on her hip. She set Emily down on her highchair, went to get her food, and to start some coffee for her and Eric. “Okay sweet-pea how does blue-berry oatmeal sound for breakfast this morning?” she asked the 2 year old. Emily started giggling; blue-berry was her favorite flavor. “I’ll take that as a yes.” Calleigh said chuckling.

(still chapter 5, just later in the morning)

Calleigh had been done feeding Emily and also eating her own breakfast. She and Emily were on the floor, Calleigh was tickling Emily on the belly. Eric heard the laughing and decided to check out what was going on in the living room. “So, what’s going on in here, Cal…Emily?” he asked jokingly. Calleigh turned around, not realizing Eric had gotten up and was watching her. “Well Emily and I were just playing. I already feed her and had my own breakfast, so you’re the only one that needs to eat yet.” she told him.


Chapter 6, Part 2 of story, Part 1 of chapter 6

"Ms. Duquesne, I'm sorry but I've checked Emily's blood charts." He paused.

"And?" Calleigh really didnt want to hear what came next.

"She has a rare disease called(its not a real disease) Nocoramon." The docrter paused, waiting for her questions.

"What is it?" Calleigh knew this wasnt good.

"Its a disease that...well its kinda like autism, and seperation problems, combined with a problem of her mind. You see Nocoramon slows the brain devolpment. Im so sorry." He walked away.

"Oh my god." Calleig almost broke down crying.

"Wait Dr. can it be fixed?" she didnt want to hear that 2 letter word, but it wasnt her coice.

"No, it can be helped but not fixed completely." He walked away not looking back at all.
