Caruso sees demise of serialized TV Cristoph Mark / Daily Yomiuri Staff Writer
"I think there's a general move away from [serialization]," David Caruso, star of the massively popular TV series CSI: Miami, tells The Daily Yomiuri during a trip to Japan to promote the DVD release of his show's third and fourth seasons.
The insight in many ways defies commonly held beliefs--shows such as Heroes, Lost, 24 and Battlestar Galactica have found large and loyal audiences around the world despite plotlines that must be closely followed. The change, from Caruso's standpoint, has come about because of syndication.
"The people I talk to on a regular basis watch the CSI: Miami marathons and so on, and [the episodes are] all mixed together," he says. "And people are watching CSI: Miami in a somewhat general way, meaning they're watching episodes from a mix of seasons. It's really changed as a format and heading in the direction in which everything [else] is going, which is more of an on-demand thing. What's significant about that change is that the network airing is not the cornerstone of the relationship anymore.
"I'm sure CBS will be happy to hear that," he says with a laugh, referring to the network channel that premiers new episodes.
Caruso got his start on U.S. television in 1981 on a poorly rated made-for-TV movie called Crazy Times. Soon after, however--and following one of his more successful forays into film, which included minor roles in An Officer and a Gentleman and First Blood--he made his debut in a police drama, the ever-popular CHiPs. Something seems to have caught his interest at this point, because he later appeared in a number of police dramas, including T.J. Hooker, Hill Street Blues, Crime Story and NYPD Blue, which he notoriously quit just before the show hit big in order to pursue what he thought would be a lucrative film career.
Though that success never materialized, his move back to television in the form of Horatio Caine on the CSI franchise has placed him square in the limelight. So much so, in fact, on a February 2007 episode of The Late Show with David Letterman, comedian Jim Carrey poked fun at Caine's habit of dramatically putting on his sunglasses mid-one-liner.
"I think that what happens to you is that once it [your character] becomes part of the culture, there's the discovery part and then there's the part where they have to have fun with it," Caruso ponders. "And that's cool. And that's also part of its arrival. When Jim Carrey did the impression of the character on David Letterman, he had fun with it. But there's also the part where it's a real affirmation going on there. And that's Jim Carrey doing an impression--regardless of what he does, that's not a bad thing. If he's going to take two minutes on Letterman to do Horatio Caine, that means that the character's arrived."
He and the show have not only arrived in the United States, but in Japan and much of the rest of the world. "CSI: Miami is the No. 1 show in the world, and it has understood embracing that," he says.
Here in Japan, it has run daily on TV Tokyo affiliates (currently, the channel is showing CSI: NY) and on the satellite channel AXN, where it is broadcast several times a week. And this month marks the DVD release of the series' fourth season.
In Europe, according to an October 2005 article on Variety.com, "That popularity may have something to do with the Baywatch and Miami Vice effect in that Euro audiences tend to have a predilection for watching beautiful (American) people--especially when the characters hang out near beaches."
"I don't know," Caruso says in response to a comparison between his show and the classic David Hasselhoff series that featured well-endowed women running down the beach in slow motion. "Baywatch is pretty good."
"Well, we have some pretty attractive people on our show, so I think that we're covered where that component is concerned. But at the end of the day, it's a law enforcement show, it's in a tropical setting, but there are some impactful things that take place."

Julia: I know. (Wiping her tears) Did you let him go on already? He was really excited about it. (Staring back at the picture)
Horatio: Go? Go where exactly?
Julia: He didn't mention it to you? His trip to Orlando?
Horatio: No. He neglected to mention that. When was he supposed to leave?
Julia: (She paused, then spoke) Sunday. Yes, he was to leave Sunday. Don't be hard on him Horatio. He's enjoying himself.
Horatio: What about Ron Saris?
Julia: (She looks at him blankly) What about him?
Horatio: Has he been here?
Julia: You know he was.
Horatio: What did he say? Did he threaten you?
Julia: You know Ron, and his way with words. Told me I deserve to be in here. It was my punishment for betraying him.
Ron: You see, you and Horatio really did a number on me. Thought he could do better by you than me! Huh? Now look at cha', locked up like a mad dog. I really cared about you Julia! Frank: Hey, Ryan. (Pointing at a trail leading out the side door) Whoever was involved, left in a hurry. Found pieces of clothing from here to the backyard. That's not all. (Pointing at the door panel)
Ryan: Blood. (Starts to collect it) Could belong to the killer.
Frank: Stab your target, cut yourself.
Ryan: No signs of a break in. Think he had a key?
Alexx: I didn't find any keys on him.
Frank: So, how did he get in?
Ryan: Somebody had to have let him in. (Looking over at the victim)

Eric's sitting with Tyler, who's trying to isolate the background sounds on Horatio's

cell phone chip...

Eric: How can you get the conversation off the phone if it wasn't recorded?
Tyler: Technically it was recorded. Horatio's phone is on a contract. The company keeps track of all received and sent calls including the ones that are recordable.
Eric: I didn't know that. I thought it was against the law.
Tyler: Depending on the company.
Eric: So we can get the recorded conversation H had within the last 12 hours?
Tyler: Yes we can. (As Tyler extracts what they need, Eric notices a familiar sound)
Eric: I know that sound!

Eric: It's not but I know what it is and it's docked at Lakeside Marina. (Gets on his phone) Thanks Tyler. Yeah H? I got a location.

Calleigh's being visited by her Dad while she's in the hospital.
She also gets and very unexpected visit from an old friend...

Frank: Yeah, that's right. No divorces on any of them. A real estate agent, some big shot lawyer, a Senator! Says Richardson is husband number seven. So she's a gold digger?
Ryan: These other husbands, any live here in Miami?
Frank: Not in Miami or anywhere else for that matter. She's a widow.
Ryan: Wait! Are you saying all of her husbands are dead?!
Frank: As a doornail. Three by suicide, one of supposedly "natural" causes, one by unexplained circumstances. The list goes on.

Ryan: When's the last time you spoke with your Ex-husband?
Cynthia: One week ago. He wanted me to re-marry him. Hah! Like I would!
Frank: Well, you won't have to worry about that now since he's dead! (She looked appalled at Frank, then turned to Ryan)
Cynthia: What is this man talking about? Robert's not dead.
Ryan: I'm afraid he is dead, Mrs. Richardson. (She puts her hand to on her chest) Where were you last night?
Cynthia: Oh my God! (She starts to tear up) I...I was...With my husband at a fashion fund raiser. I was there until it ended. At eleven. What happened to him? How did he...Die?

Cynthia: Well, he was an avid gambler. I'm sure he owed plenty of people.
Frank: Anyone stand out in particular? (Cynthia pondered a minute, then spoke)
Cynthia: Yes, "Snap" Ortega. He was Robert's bookie. (Ryan and Frank both looked at each other)
Frank: Snap? Is that his real name?
Cynthia: I don't think so. Robert said people called him that because, if your short or unable to pay, he'd snap!
Ryan: Have you ever come in contact with this Ortega?
Cynthia: God no! I wanted nothing to do with any of that. One of the main reasons why I divorced Robert in the first place. He was breaking us with his excessive gambling.
Frank: Robert wasn't as rich as many of your previous husbands, why did you marry him?
Cynthia: Not that it's any of your business! Robert was my first. We were great in the beginning. I wanted better. He wanted to gamble. If we are finished, I'd like to leave now.

Jake: In a bit of a hurry, aren't you? She's not going anywhere.
Eric: If you're done. I'd like to get pass, see my co-worker, please.
Jake: Co-worker! Really! Is that what they call it now? (He said cynically)
Eric: Look, Jake. I don't know what you're getting at, but I'd like to visit Cal for a moment. If you don't mind.
Jake: Cal?! I didn't know she liked to be called Cal.
Eric: (Getting annoyed) Maybe, just not by you. (Jake grabs Eric's arm as he's about to open Calleigh's door)

Snap: Get this crazy white boy off me! (Under muffled protest)
Frank: Whoa! Ryan! Take it easy. They say I got an anger problem. (Successfully pulling Ryan off the suspect)

Frank: (Grabs the chair and puts it down for Snap to sit in) Sit down!

Snap: Maybe! Why? (Ryan snatches across the table at Snap, who jumps back) Hey, man control ya boy!

They belong to a vehicle owned by Julia, but how did Saris get it?...

And who was his accomplice...

Horatio: Thank you, Eric. (He puts his hands on his hips) Ms. Boa Vista. What do we have?
Natalia: The blood on the boat doesn't belong to Kyle, but I did get a hit on it. (Handing him the report)
Horatio: David Klett, says he's wanted on drug, weapons charges, and murder.
Natalia: He's known to run with Saris. He was one of the men Saris bought the Alloy bullets from. He was the distributor.
Horatio: Now he's helping Saris. (He said flatly)
Natalia: Did Eric find out the I.D of the tire treads on the boat?
Horatio: He did. They belong to a vehicle registered to Julia.
Natalia: Really? Maybe Julia gave it to Kyle, and didn't get it turned over yet.
Horatio: No. Julia gave Kyle a brand new car when he was acquitted.
Natalia: Saris could have had Klett steal the car, or forced Kyle to drive it onto the boat. (Horatio thinking hard)
Horatio: I want to know what this Klett character's part is in all of this.
Natalia: Horatio, at the bottom of Klett's report is the list of his victims. (Horatio's eyes widen) His true nature!
Horatio: Says he was a hired hit man. The targets were four children. Seventeen year-old Celia, twelve year-old Marcus, six year-old twins Bradley and Brianna Thompson.
Natalia: The Son of a B**ch slit all of their throats, after he tortured them.
Horatio: Says he was acquitted of all charges due to improper conduct on the prosecutor's part.
Natalia: So the monster goes free.
Horatio: Where are the parents of these children?
Natalia: Died in a plane crash.They were being raised by their Uncle. A Gregory Philips. He died of heart failer two weeks after the murders. Horatio, the parents left the kids two point seven million dollars. Which the oldest would have received when she turned eighteen. If that Bastard hadn't killed her and her siblings.
Horatio: Interesting. Is there an address on this monster?

Horatio and Eric visit the home of David Klett, only to find his guest instead...

Gives them an unbelievable story, which neither man buys...

Man: (A man opens the door wearing a pink mini kimono) What do you people want?
Horatio: (Both men raised their eyebrows at the sight before them) Ah...We're looking for Mr. David Klett. Is he here?
Man: NO! (He goes to slam the door, but Eric blocks the doorway) Can you move your foot?
Eric: Open the door back, and answer our questions. (The man pulls the door back)
Man: Fine! What do you want to know?
Horatio: Where is David? Be cautious with your answer. (Watching as the man starts to speak)
Man: (Sighs) Okay! Look. He was here, but he left about six...Hours...Ago. Or so.
Horatio: So...Mr?
Man: Jean Paul! (He said with a French accent, and a silly smile)
Horatio: (Smirking a bit) Jean Paul. You're here alone. I take it?
Jean Paul: Um...Yes. Yes I am. So if you don't mind gentlem...
Eric: (Looking pass the man's shoulder) I see two plates of food on the table. Uneaten. Wanna try again?
Jean Paul: I...Ah... (Looking behind him) Those are...Um... (There's a thud in the background)
Horatio: Eric. Did you hear that? (They began to draw their weapons)
Eric: Yeah. I sure did H. I'll take the back.
Horatio: I'll take the front. Jean Paul, step out here please.
Jean Paul: What?! I'm in my robe!
Horatio: You'll be in a body bag if you don't get out here right now!

Horatio enters through the front door, and sees a man fleeing out the back door. Only to be tackled by Eric.

As Eric grabs the man's arms, Horatio recognized him immediately...

Horatio: Mr. Klett. (Horatio and Eric get a small chuckle at the man's expense) Lovely. I...Think pink's your color.
David: (Standing in nothing but a pair of ladies undies) You got the wrong guy.
Horatio: Funny the picture I got looks identical.
David: I got one of those faces.
Horatio: Sure you do. Tell me something David, where's Ron Saris?
David: I ain't got nothing to say.
Horatio: Why don't I put you in a holding cell, til you find something to say.

(THUD, Ron kicks Kyle in the back) That's for trying to drown me! Now I gotta change my clothes. This was my favorite suite, you know. (Ron cleans himself for his next plan)

Ron: (Smiling) Your Dad, kill me? Me? Let's get one thing straight here kid, I'm gonna get my revenge! Nothin' your Daddy can do will change that. (A woman walks up to Ron, puts her hand on his arm and kisses him)
Woman: Are we ready to go? (She looks down on Kyle like trash) I want to get this over with.
Ron: Don't rush me! I told you about that, didn't I? (Pointing in the woman's face) So, ya think Mom's gonna like my new suit? huh? This time I'ma' kill her for real.
Kyle: Stay away from my Mom! You burnt rat! (Ron swings back his foot to kick Kyle, but changes his mind)
Ron: Heh, heh! You know what kid you got guts. I'll give you that! Almost don't want to kill you. Come on babe, let's go! You two (Two thugs look over at Ron) keep an eye on him! (Turning to the woman) YOU GOT LEAD IN YOUR A**, I SAID LET'S GO!!

Horatio and Eric are conducting the interrogation of David Klett...

Finally getting to the bottom of his crimes, including the one involving Kyle...

David: I told you guys, I didn't kill anybody. (Pulling at the borrowed T-shirt he was given) This shirt's too tight.
Eric: You prefer the comfort of your pink underwear? We can arrange it. (He said sarcastically)
David: No. That's not necessary.

It's a warm sunny day and Julia is sitting outside enjoying the weather...
She is interrupted by a nurse needing her to come inside...

Julia: What are you talking about?! I already took my pills! (Turning to look at the nurse)

Horatio finds out what happened to the vehicle...

Including the reason why it was used in the first place...

Eric: A fisherman and his daughter made the discovery as they were about to cast their lines. (They walked around the tow as it pulls the car out of the water, and a familiar odor hits the air)
Horatio: That...That my friend is decomp! There's a body in this vehicle. Eric, get a crowbar please, get this trunk open.
Eric: (Opening the trunk and get a shock) H? Isn't that Julia's lawyer?
Horatio: It was. (Taking off his shades and looking at the body) Question is, how did he get out of jail and in the trunk of Julia's car? Eric: My money's on Saris.
Horatio: And you'd be paid in full. (Eric starts to take pictures of the body)
Eric: H? Is it me or does he not have a scratch on him?
Alexx: I'll be the judge of that! Stand aside gentlemen. (She gestures two of her haulers to move the body onto the ground)
Eric: It could be a poisoning. (Now taking pictures of the car) Or strangulation perhaps.
Alexx: From what I can see, there aren't any ligature marks around the neck. As for the poisoning, no puncture wounds anywhere, but I'll know more at post. Horatio? What was the lawyer's name?
Horatio: (Looking curious at the question) Leonard McBride. Why?
Alexx: Well, that's not what his driver's license says! (And she hands it over to Eric)
Eric: It says Blake Gunther.
Horatio: Blake Gunther? Is he from here?

Horatio: Really! That's odd considering the car was pushed in face forward. (Horatio trying to picture the car before it went in the water)
Eric: Well, unless the killer drove the car directly into the bank...
Horatio: Or... (Looking at the Driver's side of the car) Pushed it in, by using the door as leverage.

Horatio: The killer wanted this car to be found. We... Just need to know why.

Frank and Ryan enter Club Smooth where Snap claims to have been last night...

They run into a bartender with a story to tell, at least they were suppose to...

Man: (The door cracks open less than an inch) What?

Man: What's the password?
Frank: (He holds up his badge) Now back up!
2nd Man: WHAT THE HELL IS THIS? (Looking from Ryan to Frank)

2nd Man: Who the hell's askin'?
Ryan: (Walks up to the loud mouth man, with his gun raised) I am. Now, you either tell me or I can haul you and the rest of these ladies down to the precinct.

2nd Man: He's the bartender up front! Can you get him (Pointing at Ryan) to move his gun away from my temple, please?

Frank and Ryan catch up to the sneaky Bartender named Jinx, and demands some answers...

Frank: Tried to pull a fast one huh, sport?
Jinx: Hey, you didn't say you were looking for someone in particular!
Ryan: This is not the time for joking. We need some serious answers. (Ryan tosses an autopsy photo to Jinx) You know this guy?
Jinx: D**n. What happened to him? (Looking at the picture with horror)
Frank: Somebody stabbed him to death last night. You know anything about that?

Horatio enters the morgue while Alexx is finishing her work on the DB from the lake...

She notices an intriguing look on his face, she knows that look...

Horatio: I believe...This man is more that a dead ringer, no pun intended of course, But Alexx, what can you tell me?
Alexx: Well, this guy had no surgeries, no implants, no stitching, no scaring, he doesn't even have a crown in his mouth!
Horatio: So...What are you saying? This face is his!
Alexx: Every wrinkle, spot and line. I did a TOX report, I'm waiting on the results. I Also sent a blood sample to DNA just in case. All you need is a sample from the lawyer. (They both looked down at the corpse) If he ain't already on my table!
Horatio: (Horatio smirks) Anything else?
Alexx: Yes, as a matter of fact there is. (She hands him a vial) This was the only other thing I found. You might want to use gloves.
Horatio: Was this in with his personal effects? (Taking the vial with a single glove)
Alexx: Oh no, Honey! This! This was in a tunnel less travelled. (Horatio mouthed the word WOW) Now that's what I call a tight squeeze.
Horatio: (Horatio looks at the vial) It's a yellow substance. Looks oil based. I'll get it to Eric for testing. Thank you, Alexx.

Natalia caught up to Ryan with the results of the blood and fabric...

Apparently they've been talking to the wrong people...

Natalia: Ryan! The fabric is blended. Italian and Egyptian silk. Ryan: That's extremely expensive. (Looking at the report)
Natalia: True. Only one designer uses this fabric.
Ryan: The Red Constantine. The blood?
Natalia: Male. Rules out the wife.
Ryan: Like I said before, doesn't mean she had nothing to do with it.
Natalia: Yeah, but What's worst than having your wife's Ex show up.
Ryan: Thinking the husband? Impossible. We have a suspect. Ortega. He already lied about seeing the victim on the night in question. (Looking annoyed)

They get an interesting find in the mystery vial...

Eric: Somebody really must have hated this guy.

Horatio: Apparently so. What do we have?

Eric: H, you won't believe what I found in this vial.

Horatio: Okay, enlighten me.

Eric: Yellow Cake, and I don't mean Betty Crocker. (Horatio's eyebrows raised)

Horatio: Yellow Cake, Uranium?

Eric: Exactly. Except the genius who tried to concentrate it, added the wrong ingredients.

Horatio: Meaning?

Eric: Yellow Cake can be concentrated with sulfuric acid, caustic alkaline and peroxide, which can cause catastrophic outcomes, but instead of peroxide being added it has polyurethane, the oily substance you see here.

Horatio: Polyurethane, like in paint finisher?

Eric: Like in paint finisher. The oil makes the uranium not as catastrophic, but dangerous non the less.

Horatio: What's the damage scale, with the concoction as is?

Eric: Even without the peroxide it can take out at least two and half city blocks.

Horatio: What puzzles me is...Due to the location of where this vial was found, why did it not explode?

Eric: Simple answer for that is, the amount substance in this vial has been reduce to a cocktail type bomb.

Horatio: So throw it! Kaboom!

Eric: Right! Good thing the haulers were gentle with the body.

Horatio: Saris is connected to this outside of just taking Kyle.

Eric: Planting a bomb isn't far out of his reach, H.

Horatio: He already reached too far by taking kyle!

Horatio receives an odd phone call, but soon figures out the caller...

Horatio: I want you to listen to me carefully! I know what you're up to.
Ron: Really?! How smart you are!
Horatio: Not only will I find you, I'm going to kill you. It will be just you and me Saris. Nobody else.
Ron: Oh, I, don't think so! You see Red, I got something you want. And I can be a very generous kinda guy.
Horatio: My patience with you, Saris is out! Tell me where to find you?
Ron: Now, what fun would that be if I just up and told you? You used to do Detective work, I'm sure your boy here left you plenty clues. Oh yeah! I found out what the little prick was doing. Can't slip up like that again, now can we? Meanwhile why don't you say hello to my company, won't you?
Julia: Horatio, he's planning to... (He hears Ron slap Julia)
Horatio: Julia! Juli...
Ron: No one told you to spill the beans. Women! I swear. So Red, now that you know the whole gang's here, it's up to you to make the next move.

Ryan goes on Natalia's "Hunch" with Frank and find some interesting facts about Mr. Richardson...

They decide to pay him a visit, iron out a few details...

Frank: (Rings the doorbell) Wonder what this Richardson guy's like...
Housekeeper: Yes? What do you want? (Both men show their badges)

Housekeeper: Just one moment. (Slams the door in their faces)

Charles: It's awful late gentlemen, what can I do for you?
Ryan: Mr. Richardson, you are aware that we questioned your wife about the murder of her Ex-husband?
Charles: Yes. I'm quite aware. She had nothing to do with that, as it has been proven. (Cynthia enters the room)
Cynthia: What on earth are you doing here? (She said more so at Frank than Ryan) I told you what you needed to know!
Frank: Ma'am, we have to do a follow up.
Cynthia: Harassing sounds more like it! (Charles cuts his wife a stern look)
Charles: Gentlemen, please, it's late and I have a very important presentation tomorrow.
Cynthia: He's opening a new fashion house. (She said with an air of importance)

Calleigh is home and preparing dinner, she gets a phone call, from Jake...
As she's speaking she hears a knock at her door...

Eric: (Drying his hair with a towel) I may have used the last of your conditioner.
Jake: Oh! (He laughs) This is the reason you want me to leave. Aren't you supposed to be recovering?
Eric: Berkeley? What the hell are you doing here? (Eric's nostrils began to flare, beads of water rolling down his chest)

Alexx calls Horatio to let him know the results of the car victim...

What she tells him clears up a lot of confusion...

Alexx: Horatio the lawyer's blood is a match to our car victim. Identical familial match, to be exact!
Horatio: They were twins! Interesting. What else did you find?
Alexx: I did a digital autopsy. He died of brain and spinal shock. I found massive amounts of diatrizoate meglumine.
Horatio: Reno-Dip!? Alexx isn't that discontinued?
Alexx: Yes Horatio, it is. The injection was at the top of his head. Had I cut it open I wouldn't have seen it.
Horatio: Instant death, he didn't feel anything.
Alexx: That's why there's no bruising. The drug took effect right away. Does the lawyer know his brother's dead?
Horatio: According to his knowledge...He has no brother. Was an only child. Apparently adopted.
Alexx: So what'd he do to have this done to him?
Horatio: I don't know. None of this is making any sense to me. (Horatio phones Eric) Yeah, Eric did you find anything on the car victim Blake Gunther? Really? A Chemist you say. Okay I'm on my way over.

Just when Ryan and Frank thought they couldn't prove who murdered Robert Calhoun, and their main suspect

refuses to supply a blood sample, evidence flows over them like "Silk" sort of speak...

Ryan: Frank, remember the clothes left at the crime scene? (Sitting holding a fashion magazine)
Frank: Yeah. So?
Ryan: There was blood on them, right?
Frank: There was blood on them, the wall and no hit on file. What's your point?
Ryan: (He smirks at Frank, in turn Frank gives him the "What the hell you smirkin' at" look) Most designers are picky about who's allowed to touch their clothes.
Frank: Okay... So? (Ryan gives him a weird look)
Ryan: So.... Richardson does not have an assistant to look after his clothing!
Frank: Think ole' Charlie's the only one touches his clothes before the runway.
Ryan: I'm banking on it. (He drops the book in front of Frank) That presentation he was talking about, is on a new never before used fabric, which we have in our lab.

Ryan: When Natalia analyzed the fabric to compare it's compounds, she couldn't find anything. It was foreign. We can't get warrant for his blood...

Horatio also starts to piece everything together...

Eric: I pulled his arrest record from Tallahassee, only cause I figured he had one. As a minor he spent three years in juvie for blowing up a chemistry lab at his high school.

Eric: Cashed in a favor. Says in spite of all of his criminal activities he graduated Valedictorian, go figure that. And received high honors in science. Went on to Florida State to earn degrees in Bio Chemistry and Nuclear Science, only to get arrested for distributing bomb making materials to other students. Horatio receives a video disk from an officer.

Horatio: Where did you get this from? Who delivered it?

Officer: it was left at the desk. No one saw who left it there. It was marked urgent with your name sir.

Horatio: Thank you officer. (Taking it to the electronics lab Horatio discovers what's on the disk)

Eric: So what's on the disk? (As they're watching they see Kyle being suspended in mid air)

THE DISK: Howdy Red! I see that you've gotten my little gift. I want you to face me at shoreline marina at 5-o-clock that's ohh (looking at his watch) 25 minutes from right now or less depends on how long it took for you to view the disk. Be here Red! Watch as I destroy everything you took from me!
Eric: Whatcha wanna do H?
Horatio: Get the team. Meet me at the marina. I'm ending this...Now!

Meanwhile at the Marina, Ron is overjoyed with excitement.

Kyle, wincing from the pain of hanging by his wrist.

Stacey: How much longer are we gonna wait here? I'm gettin' tired! Ron: Shuuut Up! Your bringing down my excitement! Red will be here. That's for sure.
Julia: Ron...(severely dehydrated) Please let Kyle down. He has nothing to do with this!
Ron: No! No because it wouldn't be fun if we didn't have some entertainment. (looking up at Kyle) Ain't that right Twerp!?
Horatio: His name is Kyle! (Standing at the entrance, gun drawn)
Ron: Red! You made it! And just in time. Stacey. Show the Lieutenant what we have in store for him and the family.
Horatio: Ron! Let him down! Now! (gripping his gun) (Eric and the rest of the team are out of sight, but within range)
Kyle: (In a dry raspy voice) Dad.... dad help mom...
Ron: Daddy help my mommy please!! (Stacey pulls a tarp off a very large tub directly underneath Kyle) You know Red, I think your boy and I are starting to look alike. At least when I'm done he will be.
Horatio: What is that!? (Ron just smiles) WHAT IS IT SARIS!??
Ron: It's moisturizer!! ha ha ha! No really it's acid. But not just any old round the house acid it's glacial acetic better known as.....
Horatio: Death Dip! Saris. Ron. Look, you wanted me, you got me let them go! (Watching as Ron goes to grab the controls for kyle's ropes)
Saris: Oh don't worry Red, you'll get yours I promise. You're gonna watch as I burn your boy and kill the two timing witch!

Ron hits the switch and Kyle starts to fall, Horatio tries to run to him but he's to far away. Ryan swings down grabbing Kyle just in time.
Ryan: I gotcha. Eric takes out all six gunmen. Calleigh gets to Julia and as Stacey turns to run, she come face to face with Natalia's gun. Ron is running out, officers give chase and Horatio Screams NO! HE'S MINE!!!

THE FINAL SHOWDOWN

As Horatio gives chase, Ron runs and jumps on a large yacht.

Not knowing the boat is loaded with a large amount of the oily yellow cake mixture.

Ron: You know Red, it's gonna feel real good to kill you!
Horatio: You're not getting the chance. (Ron shoots but misses. Horatio shoots, but only grazes Ron's arm)
Ron: If I go we both go BOOM! As you can plainly see Red. I've placed several explosive devices all over the yacht. One false move and up we go!
Horatio: As long as your dead, I'm fine with it. (Suddenly Ron starts the engine)
Ron: Are you fine with half of Miami going with us? (The team runs toward the dock where the boat is taking off)
Ryan: H is on that boat with Saris.
Natalia: I'll call rescue. (A member of the bomb squad informs Eric of the situation)
B Squad: we've swept the warehouse clean. No sign of the yellow cake substance or any bomb materials.
Calliegh: I don't understand! if he didn't put the bomb in the warehouse where did he put it? (Eric turns toward the yacht)
Horatio: Cut the engine! (His weapon pointed at Ron) I won't ask again!
Ron: You wouldn't shoot an unarmed man would you Red? (Ron opened his shirt, revealing the detenator strapped to his chest) Multiple shots Red and we're dead!
Horatio: I just need one.
Ron: OOOHHH! You think you're so clever huh? I knew you would want to play the hero, Red. I push that button long ago! we'll be dead in less than 15 minutes. (Horatio puts his weapon away, knelt down next to Ron)
Horatio: where is it? Where's the source?
Ron: SCREW YOU! ( Unable to hold it, he punches Ron in the face) Ha ha ha HA HAHH WE'RE GONNA DIE ALONG WITH HALF OF MIAMI BEACH! AIN'T NOTHIN THE GREAT HORATIO CAINE CAN DO ABOUT IT!!!

Eric's on the phone with the coast guard urging them to get to the yacht before it's too late

Eric: This is CSI Eric Delko, I need a bird in the air immediately!! A yacht headed toward Miami Beach with a significant amount of explosive material on board. Lieutenant Horatio Caine and suspect Ron Saris are both on board.
Operator: Are you able to get a hold of Lieutenant Caine by cell?
Eric: He's not answering it. Please I need that helicopter. (Eric notices the yacht turn away from shore) KABOOM (The yacht explodes) H!!!!

He pops up out of the water as the yacht burns in the distance behind him.

Coast Guard picks him up and head for shore.....

Eric: H are you okay? Horatio: I'm good. Eric: We got'em? Horatio:We got'em! (Kyle runs over to his Father, Julia walks over to the coroner's truck) Julia: Pull it back. ( The hauler just looked at her) Pull it back!! Horatio: Julia. Let's... Julia: NO! I want to see his face! I want to see his FACE Horatio! (She unzipped the body bag) Horatio: It's over Julia. She was sitting at the park wearing a light blue summer dress, he always though she looked amazing in that dress..

Yelina: Hi, I'm glad you made it. There is something I need to talk to you about.
Horatio: You know you can tell me anything.
Yelina: Well, I'm in love. He's a wonderful man, and I know he loves me too.(His heart almost leaped out of his chest. Did she finally want to be with him..) His name is Aaron Morhouse. He's a mortgage invest.. (He was crushed, totally devastated)
Yelina: Horatio? Did you hear me?
Horatio: Um I'm sorry what.. was that last part?
Yelina: I said I want you to have dinner with us so you can meet him. (Hell no! He thought to himself, then he stared into her beautiful brown eyes)
Horatio: Of course I'll be there.

Horatio and Natalia are at a crime scene and for the first time his mind was somewhere else..

Natalia: Horatio, I found blood over here on this chair. It's a weird pattern. Horatio. HOR RA TIO!! Hello? (He was thinking of Yelina and how come he didn't know about this new guy in her life)
Horatio: I.. was um thinking about something. Where did you find blood? (She looked at him curiously)
Natalia: Are you alright? You don't seem to be yourself today.

Later that night Horatio was getting ready to walk into the restaurant to greet Yelina,

When he saw a familiar face from his past..

Yelina: Hi, this is Aaron Morhouse. Aaron this is.. (Horatio interrupts her)
Horatio: He knows me. But last I remember your name wasn't Aaron. It's was Keith Harrison, convicted on battery charges for Spousal abuse against his wife. How is Sarah.. That's right you killed her didn't you.
Aaron: That was a long time ago.
Horatio: Not long enough.
Yelina: Aaron, what is Horatio talking about?
Aaron: Like I said that was a very long time ago, and that was ruled an accident. (Staring at Horatio)
Horatio: We both know that's not true don't we Keith.
Aaron: My name is Aaron. Not Keith!
Horatio: Changing your name won't make what you did any different.
Yelina: Okay that's enough both of you! (She turned and looked at Aaron) Why didn't you tell me? (Aaron glared at Horatio who stared back)
Aaron: I was going to but that's not exactly something I'm proud of. Yes, my name was Keith Harrison, and I did abuse my late wife but I am not that man anymore. I changed my behavior and my name so that I could have a chance to start over with my life.
Horatio: Shame Sarah didn't get that same chance.
Aaron: It was an unfortunate accident what happened to Sarah and I truly regret how I treated her, but I did not mean for her to die. (Grabbing Yelina's hand gently) You have to believe me. You and I have been seeing each other for 6 months and I never once showed any sighs of cruelty. Have I?
Yelina: No you haven't, but to keep something like this from me Aaron is a pretty big deal.
Aaron: I know and I'm sorry about that. Just give me the chance to start from the beginning.
Horatio: This should good.
Aaron: Alone please! (Looking angry at Horatio, who in turn gives him a smirk as to say screw you buddy!)
Yelina: Horatio, Just let me talk to him about this okay?
Horatio: Why didn't you tell me you've been seeing this man Yelina? I could hav... (She interrupts him)
Yelina: You do know I can take care of myself. I'm not some damsel in distress.
Horatio: Sweetheart I know that but this man..
Yelina: Just let me handle it my way alright? (He pauses, then looks up at Aaron, who had a slight grin on his face)

She kisses him on his cheek then walks away to the table where Aaron is sitting. As she's seated there all Horatio could think of is she's sitting with a killer and he was helpless to stop it. He shook it off and drove back home.

Chapter Two

Suspicious Past

Eric and Calleigh got a call out to a homicide involving a young woman..

As they walk onto the scene Alexx is already there..

Eric: Oh here before I forget. (Handing her an object) I found it at the foot of the bed this morning, thought you might want it back. (Smiling at her)
Calleigh: My earring! I thought I lost it. How can I ever thank you kind sir. (Smiling back at him)
Eric: I'm sure we can come up with something. (Winking at her)

The woman has been brutally beaten and was mutilated.

Alexx: Whoever did this is one sick Bastard. She wasn't just beaten she was tortured. (Her intestines were pulled out and laid over the victims shoulder)
Eric: Looks like a modern day Jack the Ripper killing.
Calleigh: I thought Jack the Ripper slit his victims throat. (Looking at the body)
Eric: He did. He also pulled out the intestines going as far as cutting open the vaginal area.
Alexx: Well our copy cat got it to a tee, but it looks like baby girl tried to fight back.
Calleigh: She has defensive wounds on her face, arms and legs. (Taking pictures)
Alexx: I'll know more when I get her to post.
Eric: Looks like the killer left his calling card. (He takes several pictures before picking up the evidence)
Calleigh: Is that a Polaroid of the victim?
Eric: Yeah, before he killed her. (He reads notation on the bottom) Number one.
Calleigh: He's planning on more killings.
Alexx: Does that mean what I think it means? (Just then Calleigh gets a call)
Calleigh: That was Ryan. They found another victim, same M.O.
Alexx: What?! Two in one day?
Eric: Looks like we got are selves a serial copycat killer.

He's at the Scene with Ryan talking to the victim's daughter Caroline Taylor..

Horatio: What time did you get here ma'am.
Caroline: Um around 11:30 this morning. I.. We were suppose to go shopping today for (Sobbing, Horatio hands her his handkerchief) I'm sorry.
Horatio: Ma'am it's okay no need for apologies..
Caroline: We were suppose to go for my gown, I'm getting married next month. My Mother was to be my Maid of honor.
Horatio: What about your Father is he in the picture?
Caroline: No. They divorced five years ago. My Dad moved to Colorado with his new girlfriend. He won't be in town until a week before the wedding.
Horatio: I see. Was she dating anyone?
Caroline: No. Not since her last break up a year ago. Some jerk he turn out to be.
Horatio: How so?
Caroline: He was beating her up, telling her she was worthless, killing her self esteem.

Horatio: Harrison. (He said under his breath) Caroline was it Keith Harrison?

Horatio walks over to Ryan for an update on his findings...

Horatio: Mr. Wolfe what else do we know about our victim?
Ryan: Well, Her name is Barbara Taylor. According to the neighbors she was always out here in her garden. At 9am every morning except today she never left the house. Apparently no one heard any strange or out of place noises. She lived alone with two dogs and one cat. Nothing was stolen, no signs of a murder weapon, the house is clean and in order. Other than the large pool of blood, the killer could have wiped everything down.
Horatio: Can you speculate the cause of death? (Cleaning his glasses)
Ryan: She was um.. She was sliced open and all of her intestines were pulled out and placed on her shoulder. (Clearing his throat uncomfortably as he finished)
Horatio: (Not knowing the condition of the first victim Horatio had a look of disbelief) On her shoulder you said?
Ryan: Maybe you should see for yourself H. I don't think I can repeat it again. (Alexx starting on her second body)
Alexx: This is an awful way to go Horatio. She's just as torn up as the last one.
Horatio: So her wounds are identical? (Starring at her arms and legs)
Alexx: To a tee, Even the defensive wounds are the same, this is one sick puppy.

Velara was running the samples Ryan brought in from the second crime scene when Calleigh walked in..

Calleigh: Hi Maxine. Got something for me?
Velara: Yes. The results are over there. (Pointing her head toward the right, not taking her eyes of the screen)
Calleigh: Find something interesting? (looking curiously at Velara)
Velara: The blood samples I ran for you and Ryan have two different DNA profiles.
Calleigh: Killer didn't act alone, he has an accomplice.
Velara: Maybe but this one in blue is from your crime scene and this one in green is from Ryan's.
Calleigh: Okay that's odd. Same MO, two different killers? (Just then Eric opens the door)
Eric: Calleigh, We got another one. Found her in the Glades, just in time too the gators were surrounding. Guy's getting sicker. Calleigh: He might not be alone. Velara found two DNA profiles.
Eric: Really. The crime scenes indicated only one perpetrator.
Calleigh: Now there's two.

Horatio walks into to the morgue to get more information from Alexx on the instrument used to kill these women...

Horatio: Alexx. How we doing?
Alexx: Remember when I said this creep copy killed to a tee? Well almost to a tee.
Horatio: What are we working with?
Alexx: I had to put baby girl here back together before I found it. You see this incision along the torso?
Horatio: It's almost invisible. That's incredible.
Alexx: There's only one kind of knife that can do that. The Diamond Knife. Sharpest knife in the world. (Horatio gets on his phone) Horatio: Thank You Alexx.

Horatio asked Frank for a favor regarding Keith Harrison A.K.A Aaron Morhouse to see what he could find..

Something about Aaron's new chance at life just didn't sit right with Horatio..

Horatio: Frank. What do we have on our new and improve friend?
Frank: According to his file as Keith Harrison, the battery and abuse we know about, but what we didn't know is as a younger man, he had a weapons charge brought against him by his then girlfriend Jamie Barnes. He attacked her with a knife.

Chapter Three

Hard Feelings

Horatio heads to Aaron's office. It's strange that all the victims knew Aaron...

As he's thinking he gets a call from Natalia..

Natalia: Horatio, they found another girl.
Horatio: I know. In the Glades Eric jus.. (She interrupts)
Natalia: No. This one was found in the back of a club less than two hours ago. Frank and Ryan are at the scene.
Horatio: That's four victims in four hours.
Natalia: How the hell can this guy kill these girls so fast and not get caught.
Horatio: I..Don't know. But his streak is about to end. (He pulls into Aaron's office)

Aaron is in his office but he looks more like he ran a mile..

Horatio: Aaron you look exhausted. Something you want to tell me.
Aaron: What do you want? I'm kinda busy. (Loosening his tie)

Aaron: That right. You're jealous cause you can't have her!
Horatio: You're walking a thin line there my friend. (Getting annoyed he puts his hands on his hips subconsciously fingering his weapon) I suggest you cooperate with me and not make it difficult...For yourself. (Aaron sits in his chair)
Aaron: Look. I haven't had any contact with these ladies after we broke up. I thought it would be better that way. I've been in conference meetings and when I'm not doing that, I'm taking care of Yelina. You can ask her if you want to? Since you have no prove I ever came in contact with your victims, you can kindly exit my office. (Horatio moving closer to Aaron's desk)
Horatio: If I find out you had anything to do with these murders Aaron... I'm gonna take care of you.

Chapter Four

Scapegoat

Eric was looking though all the crime scene pictures taken today and the results of the prints he processed

And was sure something wasn't right..

Then Natalia walks in with some disturbing news...

Eric: Somethings not adding up here. (Thinking out loud) This is weird.

Natalia: Hey Eric. These.. (She pauses and looked at Eric) Are you okay? Is something wrong?
Eric: (He twist up his lips) Yeah. There is. Take a look at these photos, all the victims are in the same position.
Natalia: Yeah. Maybe it's some sort of ritual.
Eric: No. no no. This is something else. According to the DNA samples there's two killers right? Yet the crime scenes only indicate one killer. Eric: What?! (Staring in total astonishment) How the hell can there be a third one?!
Natalia: I don't know what to tell you, maybe it's some sitanic group thing but you know DNA doesn't lie. (Putting his fingers to his forehead)
Eric: This case is giving me a migraine.
Natalia: Maybe Calleigh can get rid of it for you.
Eric: What do you mean by that?
Natalia: Nothing. I mean she always has aspirin in her purse.
Eric: Aspirin. Right thanks. (Looking at her suspiciously) The DNA you ran, is it in CODIS?
Natalia: No. Nowhere in the any of the data bases. Whoever these guys are they've never been in trouble.
Eric: Not yet. (He gets on the computer) You got results on you.
Natalia: Here you go. What exactly are you doing.
Eric: They may not be in any criminal or judicial data base, doesn't mean we can't find them.
Eric: Bingo!!
Natalia: You got something? (Looking impressed, he showed her a file on a potential suspect) Daniel Rowe.
Eric: Apparently Danny boy donated some blood. I'll have Frank bring him in.

Calleigh walks into the morgue to check the progress with the other three bodies...

Calleigh: Hey Alexx.
Alexx: Hi Calleigh. What can I do for you? (Rearranging one of girls brought in)
Calleigh: Oh nothing just checking up on you. (Smiling)
Alexx: Checking up on me huh? (Smiling but not looking up) You got nothing to do huh Baby?
Calleigh: Absolutely nothing! No bullets to compare, no ballistics to write, all the evidence has been collected. I'm left out!
Alexx: If it makes you happy you can always go shoot somebody. (Laughing a bit)
Calleigh: Ha ha. (She notice something in the open wound) Alexx what is that shining right there by her rib cage.
Alexx: I don't know, it looks like some kind of metal. I do know it doesn't belong here.
Calleigh: Which victim is this?
Alexx: Barbara Taylor. The second victim.
Calleigh: The metal could be something off one of the killers. Here put in, (holding out an evidence envelope) I'll take it to trace. Alexx: See Baby! There is something for you to do.

Daniel is brought in a placed in front of Eric and Frank.

His a scrawny man about 98lbs soak and wet with a squeaky voice...

Daniel: Why am I under arrest? I didn't do any thing wrong! I'm innocent (Looking terrified)
Frank: (Eric and Frank both looked at each other in amusement) You sound guilty of something.
Daniel: Oh my God! Do I need a Lawyer? I'm I going to jail? I can't go to jail. Who'll take care of my mother she's...
Eric: Calm down Mr. Rowe. You're not under arrest. We just want to ask you some questions.
Daniel: Oh. Ah Okay. (Still looking nervous)
Frank: Where were you this morning at 9:30am?
Daniel: I was organizing my ink pen collection at my desk.
Frank: Did you say ink pen collection?
Eric: Um. You do this every morning. (Giving a slight grin)
Daniel: Oh yes. I get a new one every two days from a few of my co-workers.
Eric: Can anyone collaborate your story?
Daniel: Yes. One of them is always there right as I walk in.
Eric: Okay, who?
Daniel: Lacey Goddrey. She'll tell you everything you need to know. (Looking relieved)
Eric: (He raised an eyebrow) You mean this Lacey Goddrey (Showing the gruesome picture to him)
Daniel: OH! What happened to her?
Frank: She was murdered Frodo, and you were the last one to see her alive.
Eric: Your shirt is leaking. What is that?
Daniel: Oh no! My diamond pen. It's broken. (Pulling it out of his pocket) It's suppose to be the sharpest pen... of... all... pens. Why are you looking at me that way?
Eric: You might want to reconsider that Lawyer. Drop the pen in here please. (Holding out an evidence envelope)
Daniel: Will I be getting that back?
Eric: Sorry Danny. This one's going into my collection.

Natalia ran into Calleigh with the results of the metal piece in the body of Barbara Taylor.

What she found sends them in a different direction...

Calleigh: Did you find out what the metal piece was?
Natalia: Not only what is but where it came from and who handled it. (Showing her the results)
Calleigh: It's the tip of a diamond shell sleeve?(She reads the name on the report) Michael Benjamin, he could be one of our killers.
Natalia: Very well could be saids he currently works at a knife shop, where diamond knives are made. (Right at that moment Eric has news of his own)
Eric: I got a hit on one of the DNA samples.
Calleigh: You too! (Looking excited)
Eric: Finally. The guy's name is Kenneth Buynater. He's a registered nurse with surgery skills. And he was dating one of the victims. Amy Zaphair.
Calleigh: Our first victim. Nat you wanna go with me to get Mr. Benjamin?
Natalia: You bet I do.
Eric: Have fun ladies.

Chapter Five

The Confrontation

Eric and Ryan went to Kenneth Buynater's job with warrant for his arrest..

He went without so much as a question of why, which troubled Eric a great deal..

Ryan: So Mr. Buynater you and Ms. Zaphair were dating right? Kenneth: Yeah we were until somebody killed her.
Eric: You have something to do with that?
Kenneth: NO WAY!! I could never hurt Amy. I loved her we were suppose to get married next year.
Eric: Well according to a police report, you and Amy had a domestic dispute which resulted in her getting a black eye.
Kenneth: That was an accident. She actually ran into my fist.
Ryan: You have got to be kidding me. (Slapping the picture of Amy with her bruised eye in front of him) She ran into your fist, at 20 mph. What, was she coming at you on roller blades.
Kenneth: No, of coarse not.
Eric: Why don't you tell me why we found your blood on Amy's mutilated body. (Showing her picture)
Kenneth: Oh my God. I don't know. (Pushing the picture away)
Eric: You two get into fight, she pissed you off.
Kenneth: No.
Eric: (Noticing a cut on Kenneth"s hand) Where did you get the cut?
Kenneth: At the office of the man I thought Amy was seeing.
Eric: She cheating on you?
Kenneth: I thought she was cheating on me. I told her I was going to confront the guy she was seeing, but she begged me not to.
Ryan: A neighbor seen the both of arguing at Amy's house. You want to tell us what it was about. (Kenneth looking nervous)
Kennth: Like I said I though she was cheating! I just wanted the truth from her.
Ryan: So you killed her for it?
Kenneth: No. She got in her car and left me standing there. So I went to see the guy anyway. He told me they knew each other a long time ago.
Eric: Who was the guy? (Looking suspicious)
Kenneth: Morhouse, Aaron Morhouse.

Next door Natalia and Calleigh questioned Micheal Benjamin his involvement with the killings..

Calleigh: Mr. Benjamin do you know this woman? Micheal: I've seen her before but never spoke to her.
Calleigh: Are you positive with that answer?
Micheal: I only seen her, I don't know the girl personally.
Natalia: Then tell us why your blood was found on the mutilated body of this girl you claim not to know personally?
Micheal: I don't know.
Calleigh: You work in a knife supply store. You have unlimited access to any knife in this shop correct?
Micheal: Yeah. (He said apprehensively)
Calleigh: Including a six inch diamond cutting knife?
Micheal: Yeah, but what does that have to do with anything?
Natalia: This woman was killed with that knife.
Micheal: I didn't do it.
Calleigh: Mr. Benjamin we have your blood.
Micheal: Okay I did speak to her but I never touched her.
Natalia: Explain the blood? How can your blood get on someone without you touching them.
Micheal: I cut myself coming out of my investor's office. . I was cleaning it up when I spoke to her but I never physically touched her I swear it. My mortgage guy's my witness you can ask him. He'll tell you I didn't touch her.
Calleigh: Okay Mr. Benjamin. What is your mortgage guys name so we can speak with him.
Micheal: Aaron Morhouse. I can even give you the address.
Calleigh: No need. We already have it. (Calleigh and Natalia looked at each other)

Horatio was finishing his call with Eric when Yelina walked up...

She was very angry and had a few words for the Lieutenant..

Horatio: Ma'am.
Yelina: Do you not trust me! (Horatio looking surprised)
Horatio: I'm sorry, did I..Miss something?
Yelina: I told you that I would handle Aaron. I don't want you harassing him because of me.
Horatio: Is.. That what he told you.
Yelina: You did go by his office today, didn't you?
Horatio: I did but not for reasons you might think.
Yelina: He told me you were being jealous, accusing him of murder because of what happened to his ex-wife.
Horatio: Yelina..
Yelina: Tell me you didn't do that.
Horatio: Yelina this man is dangerous..(She interrupts him)
Yelina: Your wrong. (Crossing her arms and backing up)
Horatio: Yelina, you're one of the most intelligent women I know, and I'm trying to look out for you, he's not being honest with.. Yelina: I don't want to hear it. Stay out for my personal life Horatio. (She turns and walks away)
Horatio: Yelina..Yelina you're making a mistake.

Daniel was sitting in a corner terrified of the other detainees..

Eric walks into the holding cell to talk to Daniel about his pen...

Eric: Daniel. Where exactly did you get that diamond pen?
Daniel: I told you. A co-worker gave it to me. When can I go, I know my Mother's worried about me, I didn't feed the cat, And I... Eric: Daniel. I need you to focus. Tell me the name of the person who gave this pen to you?
Daniel: I don't understand what does that have to do with anything.
Eric: Daniel..
Daniel: I mean, I get pens from everybo.. (Eric getting frustrated)
Eric: CAN YOU JUS.. Daniel just the name of the one who gave you the pen I took from you.
Daniel: Okay. okay. Mr. Morhouse. He's a really good guy.
Eric: Well that good guy may have just framed you for murder.
Daniel: That's impossible. I've always been loyal to Mr. Morhouse. Made sure he took his garlic pill every day, same time I take my vitamin. We were friends. So I thought.
Eric: Maybe that's what he was counting on.

Horatio gets a visit from his nephew wanting to talk..

Ray Jr.: Uncle Horatio. Is my mom here? Horatio: No. Um you can't reach her on her cell?
Ray Jr.: I can but I didn't want to come and talk to you and she's like standing here.
Horatio: Okay Buddy. No problem. What do you want talk about?
Ray Jr.: This guy she's seeing. I don't trust him, he's shady.
Horatio: Is that right.
Ray Jr.: Yeah I saw him talking to this girl that goes to my school. Not in a I need directions kinda way if you know what I mean. Horatio: I do.
Ray Jr.: Uncle Horatio, I know you care about my Mom.
Horatio: Of coarse I do. I care about both of you.
Ray Jr.: Yeah, but you love Mom the way my Dad did. (Horatio was taken aback almost turning red as his hair)
Horatio: Ray you must understand your Mother and I are related and..
Ray Jr.: Only because my Dad was your Brother. Don't get me wrong I loved my Dad. But he would want you to take care of Mom and me. Not this creep.
Horatio: Ray the relationship between your Mom and I isn't what you..
Ray Jr.: I' m sixteen not six. I see the way you two look at each other. (Horatio lets out a big sigh, then smiles at Ray)
Ray Jr.: She loves you too you know. I thinks she's just waiting on you to figure it out. She's not as forbidden as you make her out to be Uncle Horatio. (Horatio chuckles a bit then looks at Ray)
Horatio: How did you get so smart.
Ray Jr.: It's in the genes.

Chapter Seven

Caught In The Act

Horatio receives a call from Frank saying they got another victim...

But this one got away...

Horatio: What do we know about are survivor Frank? Frank: Her name is Juliana Torres, she's a 19 year-old college student from FSU. Said she didn't see her attacker.
Horatio: When did it happen? (Stopping at Juliana's room)
Frank: An hour and a half ago. Even though she didn't see him, she said he had a smell she'll never forget.
Horatio: Thank you Frank. (Horatio walks in and smiles at Juliana) Hi Juliana my name is... Lieutenant Horatio Caine. How are you feeling?
Juliana: I guess physically I'm fine, but I can still smell him. (She quivers uncomfortably) Like he's here somewhere.
Horatio: Juliana can you... describe this smell for me?
Juliana: It's like a um.. a garlicky sour smell. It was discussing he was all sweaty, his entire body reeked of the stuff.
Horatio: In your escape, do you know if you injured your attacker?
Juliana: I don't know. Wait I do remember kicking him really hard, hard enough to kick that knife out of his hand.
Horatio: You seen the weapon he had?
Juliana: Yeah. That's how I got away. He went to pick it up, I snatched away and ran as fast as I could. (She starts to cry and Horatio gives her his handkerchief)
Horatio: If I were to give you a book to look through could you pick that knife out?
Juliana: I guess so.
Horatio: If there's...(Handing her his card) Anything you need let me know okay.
Juliana: Lieutenant I need to call my Mom in Texas. I have no one down here with me.
Horatio: (Gently picking up her hand) I'm here Juliana okay. I'm here.

Horatio had an officer take Juliana back to her dorm room.. Although the room was searched, she had an unexpected guest waiting for her arrival, as she walks in suddenly (That smell! She said in thought) she's grabbed from behind and stabbed repeatedly. She holds up her arms as protection avoiding strikes to her chest and abdomen. He slams her to the floor she looks up at him and gets a clear view of his face as he's about to strike again someone called out. Her attacker jumps out of her one story window and vanished into the night. Horatio gets that frighting call...

Yelina receives a text from Aaron about a surprise he had for her...

She didn't realize how surprising it would be...

Yelina: Aaron. I got your text about a surprise? (Looking excited)
Aaron: Yes. You and I are going to Barbados for a week.
Yelina: Barbados? Wow that's ah.. That's.. That's great!
Aaron: You..Don't want to go do you? I'm sorry I thought you and I could get away for while. It was a bad idea...
Yelina: No no Aaron it wasn't a bad idea. It..Just caught me off guard that's all.
Aaron: So.. You want to go with me? Yes? It'll be so relaxing. We won't have a care in the world.
Yelina: You forgot something.
Aaron: What?! No I got everything. The tickets, the reservations, the swim suites, the... (She interrupts him)
Yelina: The Ray Jr.!
Aaron: Ray..Right. Your Son. I.. I didn't forget him, I assumed...You could get Horatio to watch him til we get back. (Looking hopeful)
Yelina: I guest that would be alright.
Aaron: Great!! We leave for Barbados tonight. So get Horatio on..
Yelina: Tonight!! We can't leave tonight that's too short of a notice.
Aaron: Of course we can leave tonight. I have it all set up.
Yelina: Aaron, I appreciate what your trying to do for us but we can't go tonight..
Aaron: We have to go to Barbados tonight Yelina!
Yelina: Why? Why is it so important that we go tonight? (And out of the shadows he steps in to the light)
Horatio: Because Barbados doesn't have a extradition law. Do they...Aaron.
Aaron: What?! I don't know what you're taking about. (Looking extremely nervous)
Yelina: Horatio. What are you doing?
Horatio: You got to get out of town.. Right? She got away and you thought you'd finish the job.. Right?
Yelina: What are you talking about? (Looking from Horatio to Aaron) What is going on?
Horatio: Well it didn't work Aaron. She survived. And this time...She saw you. You look a little... Sweaty Aaron.

Aaron grabbed Yelina and pulled out his diamond knife and held it to her neck.

Horatio was ready for Aaron to do something stupid, he had his weapon drawn...

Yelina: Oh my God! Aaron.
Aaron: DON'T COME ANY CLOSER.
Horatio: Aaron. Let her go. I'm not going to let you make her your next victim.
Aaron: I wasn't going to hurt her. (Moving back)
Horatio: Aaron. I want you to listen to me. I need you to let her go and surrender your weapon.
Aaron: No. No no. Soon as I let her go you'll shoot me.
Yelina: You killed those women?! (Looking at him in utter shock)
Aaron: You wouldn't understand. I had to they were whores. They were just like Sarah. But not you. You're pure I couldn't hurt you. Yelina: I trusted you, defended you. I believed you when you said you changed.
Aaron: I have. You bring good into my life. I love you and you love me too!
Yelina: You're sick. (She snatches her arm but he still had hold of her) Get away from me.
Aaron: What are you saying?
Horatio: AARON! THIS IS MY LAST WARNING!!
Aaron: YOU SHUT UP!! Yelina you don't mean that. Take it back!
Yelina: You should rot in hell for what you've done. (Tears in her eyes)
Aaron: You sound like Sarah. You are one of them aren't you. A *****! (He raises the knife and BANG he's shot dead by Horatio) Horatio: Yelina are you alright?
Yelina: Yes...Yes I'm fine (Looking down at Aaron's body) You were right.
Horatio: Don't you worry about that okay. Okay Yelina.. Yelina Look at me. Don't you worry.

Yelina and Horatio are at her home, he wanted to make sure she was okay..

Horatio: Yelina I.. I want to tell you something..
Yelina: Wait! Let me just say I'm so sorry for not believing you. I know you care about me and...
Horatio: I love you!
Yelina: I love you too..
Horatio: Yelina.. I.. love you! I really love you. My life would be meaningless if I lost you tonight. I don't ever want to lose you.

He pulls her into a passionate embrace and kisses her on her lips.

She in turns wraps her arms around him and takes him in.

The cork pops and everybody cheers..

Eric: Ladies and Gentlemen I give you... Mr. and Mrs. Horatio Caine.
Calliegh: Congratulations guys, you make a beautiful couple.
Alexx: Took ya'll long enough! (Smiling and hugging them both)
Ryan: You two will have a great life together.
Natalia: You guys looks so happy. Congratulations.
Horatio: I want to thank everyone for coming we really love and appreciate all of you. Thank You!

The Fate of CSI Eric Delko.

It's a late Monday evening an every available Dade County Officer is out looking for one of their own. The tireless efforts shown by these Women and Men prove the loyalty they have for each other.

Chapter One

Horatio gets a phone call from Ryan.

Horatio: Mr. Wolfe what do you have for me? Ryan: H. The muddy shoe imprints indicate two individuals at the scene. Now I compared one of delko's shoes to those imprints which were sizes 10 and 11, Delko is a 13.
Horatio: So he could have been carried to wherever.
Ryan: That's my guess. Plus the shoes are European made, and not the expensive kind. So you know what that means.
Horatio: Indeed I do. Thank you Mr. Wolfe. Keep me posted please.

Horatio calls Calleigh for an update.

Calleigh: Hi Horatio. Well, as I was going through the vehicle Eric was driving, I noticed that the seat belt had been cut.
Horatio: Thinking he may have cut it to free himself.

Calleigh: I thought so at first, then I realized Eric has a Kano Dk44 diving knife, it wouldn't leave this kind of tool mark on the belt. The one used on the belt is a Nieto Hk315 a hunting knife.
Horatio: Used for deer and gators.
Calleigh: And that's not all, I found blood on the outside of the drivers door and on the hood. Natalia's running it through DNA right now. (He could hear the fear in her voice)
Horatio: Okay I'll call her. Thank you. And Cal, you hang in there okay.

Natalia just finished running the blood samples through DNA when Horatio calls.

Natalia: Boa Vista. Oh Horatio Hi! I was just about to call you.
Horatio: You got a hit on the blood samples?

Natalia: You bet I did. Eric really must have put up a fight. I got two profiles. First is Radimire Ovchinnikov- says he works at Crush Lounge as a bouncer but no known address and a lot of priors. Second is Viktor Sobchak also works at Crush as a bartender; he too has plenty of priors. His last known address is 17895 Sycamore Lane, Coconut Grove.
Horatio: That's a pretty high end neighborhood for a bartender wouldn't you say.
Natalia: Here's another interesting tid bit. They're both known associates of the late Ivan Sarnov.

Chapter Two

Horatio sent Ryan to bring Viktor Sobchak in for questioning.

Ryan: Step on this paper please. Viktor: What is that for?
Ryan: For your shoe measurements. (Viktor looking confused but not concerned) Pretty long rap sheet, Viktor.
Viktor: All in the past. I have turned a new leaf. I'm one of the good guys now! ( Both Horatio and Ryan not looking convinced)
Horatio: Good guy huh! (Chuckling a bit) Viktor, one of my best CSI's has gone missing and I know you.... Have something to do with it. So why don't you tell me where he is?
Viktor: I don't know what you're talking about. I know nothing of your CSI. (worming around in his chair)
Ryan: Really that's funny because we found your blood on the vehicle that our CSI was driving. (Shoving the picture in front of him)
Horatio: Want to explain that to me "Good Guy".
Viktor: There are many ways to explain that.
Ryan: What about your footprint? It's a match to the one found at the scene. (Viktor went silent)
Horatio: Where's Radimire? Viktor
Viktor: I have nothing else to say.
Horatio: I just bet you don't. Take'm.

Horatio: Go to Crush Lounge. Try to flush out Ovchinnikov and bring him in. I'm gonna go visit an old friend.

Still in custody at Miami Dade is Alexander Sharova

Horatio believing he can shed some light on what could have happened to Eric...

Horatio: (Sharova staring out a very small window) Enjoying the view I see.

Horatio: You know Ivan Sarnov is dead, so is Gregor Kaspanov and you still want to hold out.

Horatio: Give me his name. (Sharova stayed quiet) If you care about Eric at all... (Sharova interrupted)
Alexander: Of course I care he's my Son, he tried to save me.
Horatio: Then for the sake of your Son. Give me a name. Please!
Alexander: (Sigh) Vladimir Chevokovich. He is now rAnDe.(Leader)

Meanwhile 111.3 miles away a man severely beaten was found and rushed to a nearby hospital.

Nurse: The people who brought him in said he had no ID on him. Doctor: What's his condition?
Nurse: He has a concussion, several broken ribs which in turn could mean internal bleeding, lacerations on his arms and face, and multiple bruising.
Doctor: Sounds like he was left for dead.
Nurse: I think he was Doctor.
Doctor: Get him in O.R. 4.

As the O.R. team began operating on the stranger, noticing he's was worse off than what they originally believed.

They also realized he's been injured previously.

Doctor: I need more blood here, and a clamp here please. Nurse: Doctor he has an old wound on the back of the head. This could identify him.
Doctor: I'm sure it can. But I would like to focus on saving this man right now. Okay?
Nurse: Yes Doctor.
Doctor: Okay. Lets close him up, and hope for the best.

Ryan is at the bar inside the Crush Lounge, when he is approached by a very pretty young woman...

Young Woman: Hello! I've never seen you here before. Ryan: I'm here on business.
Young Woman: Umm really! I'm Tatiyana. (sporting a well above knee skin tight red dress)
Ryan: Ryan.
Tatiyana: What kind of business are you in Ryan? If you want I can be very helpful! (He holds up his badge) You're a cop?
Ryan: CSI actually. I was hoping you can tell me where to fine Radimir Ovchinnikov? (She rolled her eyes at him and pointed)
Tatiyana: He's over there in the blue polo.
Ryan: Than.. (She walked away before he could finish) k you!
Radimir: Yes, champagne boy. More of the bubble stuff huh, go on go get it. (Waving at Ryan)
Ryan: I'm not your champagne boy! You are Radimir Ovchinnikov right?
Radimir: Yeah, who wants to know? (Sittng with a group of giggling girls, Ryan has uniforms remove Radimir) What's the problem?
Ryan: Why don't we try a different atmosphere. You know somewhere quiet like oh I don't know, Dade precinct!

Radimir is brought back to the station for questioning...

He is clearly reluctant on being cooperative.

Radimir: Hey baby I can sign that for you. (Speaking to the female tech taking his shoeprint sample) I was having a good time and you pricks come messing with me. Ryan: Sorry for you! What you need to do is tell me about this vehicle. (Showing the evidence photo)
Radimir: Never seen it before.
Horatio: That's impossible Radimir, because your blood was found on that car, including your now freshly obtained footprint at the crime scene.
Radimir: And your point?
Ryan: The point is there was a CSI name Eric Delko in that car and now he's missing.
Horatio: And you.. Radimir.. You know where he is.
Radimir: I don't know what you're talking about.
Ryan: Viktor says otherwise. (Hoping he would take the bait)
Radimir: Viktor? (Looking surprised)
Ryan: That's right. Your partner Viktor's talking. And it doesn't look good for you.
Radimir: Viktor would never talk. You're bluffing.
Horatio: How badly do you want to believe that? (Radimir started to look nervous)
Ryan: Appearently you are the one who took charge of what would happen.
Horatio: How to dispose of the body.
Ryan: Where to dump the car.
Horatio: The alibies.
Radimir: No no! That was all Viktor. He was in command. I just followed orders.
Ryan: Whose orders?
Radimir: You talk to Viktor you should know all about Vladimir!
Horatio: Actually Radimir...You were right! We were bluffing. But thank you... for the help.

The stranger has been out of surgery for several hours, and he's beginning to wake up..

Nurse: Well hello. Finally, we didn't know if you were ever going to wake up.
Stranger: What happened? Where am I? (Barely able to move his lips)
Nurse: You're in Lee Memorial.
Stranger: Lee Me..mem..
Nurse: Memorial, Sir. Fort Myers, Florida. Don't try to speak now. Just rest the Doctor will be in in one moment.

The stranger was very groggy and was feeling scared for some reason but didn't know why..

At that time the Doctor walks in...

Doctor: Hello young man. Glad to see you awake. Stranger: What happened? Why am I here?
Nurse: He's been asking questions since he woke up.
Doctor: Well you've sustained some injuries but you'll be fine. I'm Doctor Quantillela, but everyone calls me Dr.Q. and this in Nurse Tolliver. Can you tell me your name is Son?
Stranger: Uhh..I..I don't know. I..Can't remember.
Dr.Q: Can you remember anything? Where you may live? A phone number perhaps?
Stranger: (Shaking his head) No nothing.
Dr.Q: It's normal to experience memory loss due to trauma.
Stranger: Wait. I do remember a name but I don't think it's mine.
Dr.Q: Son, any name that can help us find out who you are is just fine by me.
Nurse T.: What's the name?
Stranger: Calleigh?

Chapter Three

Calleigh receives a call from Horatio on the whereabouts of Vladimir Chevokovich...

She and Frank head over to pick him up at what looks to be an abandoned warehouse..

Frank: Are you sure this is the place? It looks desitute. Calleigh: Yeah, it's what Radimir told Horatio. (As they got closer, someone started shooting at them)
Frank: CALLEIGH!! (Ducking behind a dumpster)
Calleigh: I'M FINE! DID YOU SEE WHERE THE SHOTS CAME FROM?
Frank: YEAH, CAN YOU COVER ME?
Calleigh: YEAH! GO! (Frank goes in first with Calleigh behind him)
Frank: MIAMI DADE PD!!
Calleigh: DROP YOUR WEAPON!! DO IT NOW!!
Shooter: Okay, okay why didn't you say you were cops in the first place? I wouldn't have shot at you.
Calleigh: GET DOWN ON THE GROUND! (Frank cuffs the man and stands him up)
Frank: Who are you?
Shooter: Ronan. Ronan Blurchoski.
Frank: You normally shoot at unsuspecting visitors Mr. Blurchoski?
Ronan: No one visits me unannounced.
Calleigh: For obvious reasons. ( Looking around the place in amazment) You have an arsenal in here!
Ronan: I have permits for all of them.
Frank: What the hell do you need all these guns for?
Ronan: Protection! (Frank looking horrified)
Frank: Protection from what? You're expecting an army to come through here?
Calleigh: We were told we could find Vladimir Chevokovich here.
Ronan: Never heard of him. (Calleigh pick up what looks like mail)
Calleigh: Why do you have his mail coming here if you never heard of him?
Ronan: Maybe I know him maybe I don't. You can't arrest me for that!
Calleigh: Actually I can. (Smiling)
Frank: Yeah, it's call obstruction of justice moron.

Back at the hospital the stranger is strong enough to be discharged...

But he has nowhere to go, or so he thought...

Dr.Q: Well I have some good news and some bad news. Bad news there are 27 Calleigh's in this state, believe or not. But without a last name (Shrugging his shoulders) there's nothing else we can do. The good news is the couple that found you know about your condition and are willing to take you in. Til you get on your feet of course. Stranger: Wow. Uh.. That's great (Looking confused)
Dr.Q: Are you alright Son? Are you remembering something?
Stranger: Yeah. For some reason I keep seeing the letter H. But I don't know why.
Dr.Q: Could it be the first letter in your name?
Stranger: I don't know maybe? (Just then an elderly couple walks in)
Dr.Q: Oh. Young man this is Ella and Fernando Guteairez. They're the people who found you.
Stranger: Thank you. I'm very grateful.
Fernando: It's our pleasure.
Ella: You look like you need a home cooked meal. You like Carne Mechada? (Meatloaf)
Stranger: I think so.
Fernando: Well then lets go. By the way what's your name?
Stranger: I think it starts with an H but I'm not sure.
Fernando: Hector or maybe Hernando?
Ella: You look more like a Enrique. Now that's a handsom name for such a handsom man! I'm going to call you Enrique. Until you can remember your true name. Okay
Stranger: Okay sure.

Meanwhile Calleigh did some digging in Ronan's past and found something to her dismay..

Calleigh: You lied to me! I don't take kindly to liars, Mr. Chevokovich. (Showing him the file with his real name on it) Vladimir: So you know who I really am. So!
Calleigh: So I have two of your men willing to testify against you on the kidnapping of a CSI.
Vladimir: Now who's lying!
Calleigh: I can assure you I don't lie. ( Leaning in) Where is he?
Vladimir: Right where he belongs.
Calleigh: Is he dead? Did you kill him?
Vladimir: He should not have interfered.
Calleigh: Tell me where? (Vladimir sat back and smiled at her)
Vladimir: You must care very deeply for this one yes? What do I get in return if I tell you?
Calleigh: Miami State Prison or Siberia Criminal Compound in Russia. I'll even let you choose.

Chapter Four

The location where Vladimir claim to have dumped Eric's body came up empty.

Until they see blood on the ground...

Ryan: There has to be at least 500 acres of land here.
Natalia: Well Vladimir claims this spot is where they...Dumped his..body. (Tearing up)
Ryan: Nat. You okay? (Wanting to hold her but decided against it)
Natalia: Yeah.. Um.. I'm fine. Why all the way out here?
Ryan: For one, it's a hundred and fifteen miles away from Dade. Number two it's empty, in the middle of nowhere. And three, we wouldn't have thought to look out this far if Vladimir hadn't said anything.
Calleigh: I found something! (She was about 20 feet away) It's Eric's jacket.
Natalia: How do you know for sure?
Ryan: It's the same one he was wearing when he fled the shoot out.
Calleigh: It's covered in blood. Vladimir said he and the others supposedly beat Eric (Her voice breaking) to death and left him here.
Natalia: But he's nowhere out here, unless he lied about the location.
Ryan: Or Eric's not dead. (Both ladies walked over to him) You see here's a blood pool, but the trail is leading toward the road.
Calleigh: Means Eric was here, then he must have crawled his way up there. Trying to flag for help.
Ryan: Depending on what time he got up there...
Natalia: Someone had to see him and stop. He could be at a local hospital or shelter.
Ryan: I'll check the nearest hospitals.
Natalia: I'll go through all the shelters.
Calleigh: I'll call Horatio.

Horatio just ended his call with Calleigh, when Yelina walks in..

Yelina: Any news on Eric? Horatio: Maybe. Calleigh found his jacket covered in blood.
Yelina: But no body. (Looking worried)
Horatio: No. No body. (Grabbing his shades)
Yelina: Then it's possible he can still be alive! Where are you going now?
Horatio: Eric is out there, I gotta find him.

After searching several hospitals

Calleigh and Natalia met Ryan at the Lee Memorial Hospital, the last on the long list, only to be disappointed.

Calleigh: Ryan what did you find out?
Natalia: Is Eric here?
Ryan: The staff is no help. As far as they know, no one by the name of Eric Delko or fitting his description came through here within the last week. No one bothered to even look at his picture. (Calleigh walked up to the register counter)
Calleigh: Excuse me. EXCUSE ME! (The woman finally turned)
Nurse: What! (Looking annoyed)
Calleigh: Miami Dade Police Department. Take a good look at this picture! Have you see this man..Look at the picture Ma'am. Please! (The woman looks at Eric) Did this man come in here anytime in the last several days, 4 or 5 nights ago?
Nurse: I've never seen him before, but wait, Nurse Tolliver worked last night she might be able to help you.
Calleigh: Where can I find her?
Nurse: Right now she's on break. So she's in the food court. Down this hall to your left.
Calleigh: Thank you.

As the team walks in to the cafateria, they're greeted by Horatio.

Horatio: What do we have? Calleigh: A nurse Tolliver worked last night. She may know about Eric.
Horatio: (Looking around and spots the name tag Tolliver) Good afternoon Ma'am. My name is Horatio Caine. I'm with The Miami Dade Crime Lab. And these are my CSI's. Ms. Duquesne, Mr. Wolfe, and Ms. Boa Vista.
Nurse T.: Lucia Tolliver. Nice to meet you all.
Horatio: Mind if I sit?
Nurse T.: No course not. Sit on down. Now what can I do for you?
Horatio: Nurse Tolliver, one of my CSI's is missing (Shows her Eric's picture) can you tell me if you've seen...(She interrupts him)
Nurse T.: Why that's Erique! (Everyone's eyebrows raised including Horatio's)
Calleigh: Enrique?
Nurse T.: Yes. At least that the name he was given. He couldn't remember his own name. He went home with the Guteairez's yesterday. He was treated by Dr. Quantillela.
Horatio: Where can I find Dr. Quantillela?
Nurse T: There he is now. Dr.Q!

With a concerned Dr. Q. walks over to the table.

Dr.Q.: You yelled, Nurse T? Horatio: Dr. Quantillela, Luetinent Horatio Caine MDPD. I'm told you treated this man. (Showing Eric's picture)
Dr.Q.: Yes I did. Please this way. (Taking them to his office) He came here early last Sunday night, in very bad shape. He lost a lot of blood, multiple injuries. We had to operate.
Calleigh: The Nurse said something about him going home with a Guteairez's?
Dr.Q.: Yes. that right. The couple that found and brought him here, also took him to their home.
Horatio: Can you help me get in touch with the couple?
Dr.Q.: Sure. I also want you to know he's suffering from amnesia. No memory of anything only a few details.
Horatio: What details would that be?
Dr. Q.: Well for in for instance, he said he kept seeing the letter H. And he also remembered the name Calliegh,
Horatio: Anything else Doctor?
Dr.Q.: No that seems to be all he could remember.

Dr.Q. called the Guteairez's and let them know about the Police and their guest's situation.

Yet they neglected to mention it to Eric/Enrique..

Eric: Is this your son? (Holding up a picture) Ella: Yes that's Armondo. He was 19 in that picture. You know you look at lot like him.
Eric: Where is he now? (She started to cry) I'm sorry I didn't mean to upset you.
Ella: No it's okay. He died in Iraq. He was only 22.
Eric: I'm sorry. (Feeling horrible for asking)
Fernando: What are you sorry for? It was that rotten good for nothing Pres...(She interrupted him)
Ella: Enough with that foolishness Nando.
Fernando: Enrique. You come out and chop some wood with me yes?. You can handle an axe yes?
Eric: Uhh.. (Rubbing the back) I don't know...
Fernando: Come come, the freash air will heal you faster. Come on Son you don't look like a wuss to me.
Eric: (Smiling) Okay, okay I'm coming.

30 minutes passed and two silver Hummers pulled up to the Guteairez home.

Horatio and Calleigh are in one Natalia and Ryan are in the other.

Fernando: You must be Luetinant Caine. Horatio: Yes, sir, I am.
Fernando: I told him you were coming. I guss you can fill him in.
Natalia: Oh my God! Eric. Are you okay?
Eric: (Confused) I don't remember much? (Just then Ryan walked up)
Ryan: I am so glad to see you man.
Natalia: Eric you don't remember us? At all?
Eric: I..I can't. I'm sorry. I just don't remember.
Ryan: Don't worry we'll take you home pal.

Calleigh slowly steps out of the car and stands in the pathway,

Natalia: I don't think he remembers her.
Calleigh: (Tears rolling down her face as she begins to walk towards him) Oh Eric I thought I lost you!
Eric: I don't remember everything,
Calliegh: That's okay. I'll take care of you.
Natalia: Ryan are you crying?
Ryan: No...Got something in my eye. It's really dry out here. (She goes to hug Ryan)
Fernando: Well Enrique, I mean Eric. Guess you're going home now.
Ella: You can always come back and see us anytime okay?
Eric: I want to thank you so much. I would'nt be here if it wasn't for you two. I owe you my life.

Calleigh helps him into the Hummer and to make the long ride back to Dade County.

This is the happy ending they all wanted, or is it.......

THE PAY BACK!

It's a beautiful sunny Miami day. Calleigh is on her morning run as usual. 12 miles at 6am right before she readies herself for work. Unfortunately Calliegh wouldn't be prepared for what This Day had in store for her or the Dade team.

Calliegh walks into the lab and she spots Eric...

Calliegh: Good morning. (she said with a smirk)

Eric: Morning. How'd you sleep last night? (Returning the smirk, adding a sly look)

As they continued their conversation, Ryan walks in...

Ryan: Um.. Cal (Ryan has this horribly sad look on his face)

Calliegh: Hey Ryan. What's wrong? You look sick.

Eric: Wolfe. You okay?

Ryan: I..I got a call.. Um it's Peter, Peter Elliott. (Calliegh looking concerned, she moves closer to Ryan)

Eric: The special agent?

Calliegh: What about him? (There was silence for a moment, Ryan bit his bottom lip,looked at Calleigh)

Calliegh: Ryan, you're scaring me! What about Peter?! (Raising her voice)

Ryan: He.. he's dead! Cal, he's dead.

Calleigh: What?!

Calliegh blinked, and stepped back. Memories of Peter reflecting in her head.

As she snapped out of it, tears formed in her eyes.

Eric: Wolfe, what happened? (Clearly Eric could see that Calliegh was shocked and hurt by this news, he quickly stepped in to ask the questions burning in her mind)

Ryan: He was murdered. Apparently shot to death.

Eric: Any suspects? A motive? (Putting his hand on Calliegh's)

Ryan: I don't know any of the details. Horatio wants you and I to meet him at Peter's house. (Said Ryan looking at Eric)

Calliegh: Oh my god! This happened at his home? I' m coming with you. (She starts to leave, Eric walks after her)

Ryan: Cal I don't think you shou...Cal..

Eric: Calleigh! Cal!! (He reaches out and grabs her arm) Wait...

Calleigh: Eric I'm going. Peter was my friend!

Eric: Yeah, I know he was. But think about it Cal, do you really want to see him. You want to remember him like that. Dead at a crime scene!

Thinking about it, she didn't want to see Peter's body with a bullet in it.

She didn't want to get that helpless feeling she had when she seen what John had done in her weapons lab.

Seeing John lying on the floor...

NEWS REEL: MDPD Detective John Hagen took his own life this afternoon inside the Miami Dade Crime lab. Sources say the...(Calliegh shook the thought out of her head and put her face in her hands)

Calliegh: No..No your right. I'll..Um.. Yeah..I'll stay here. (Fighting back tears) Eric, please just keep me informed!

Eric: Calleigh, don't worry. We'll find who did this.(Eric puts his hand softly on her cheek which makes her smile a bit, then he walks off. Calleigh turns, walks towards her lab, tears fall from her eyes)

8:53am Eric and Ryan arrive at Peter Elliott's house. As they enter they're greeted to a horrific scene.

(Peter's lying on his back, his body riddled with bullets and multible stab wounds)

Ryan: Jeez. (He puts his left hand on the back of his head as he's takes in the full extent of the scene)

Eric: Looks like a dozen rounds here.(Eric looking on the floor around the body)

Horatio: Yes, but how many are in our friend here.

Horatio appears in the doorway of the house overseeing the scene.

(As Eric and Ryan check for clues and or possible motive to the shooting, Horatio notices the bullet pattern in the body...)

Horatio: Eric. Take a look at where the majority of the wounds are, (Pointing toward Peter's body) do you see that?.

Eric: Yeah, he's also been stabbed. They're mostly around the heart. Means whoever did this was really angry, wanted to do some real damage.

Horatio: Exactly. And that Eric...is one way to break a heart.(Horatio puts on his shades and exits the room)

PART 2

Eric and Ryan continue working on collecting more evidence,

when Horatio noticed a broken picture frame in the trash....

Ryan: Find something interesting H? (Watching as Horatio uses a glove to pick up the frame)

Horatio: Interesting indeed Mr.Wolfe! Check out the happy couple.(Ryan's eyes widen as he recognized the female occupant in the picture)
Ryan: Whoa! Isn't that Rebecca Nevins the State Attorney?

Horatio: The one and only.

Ryan: I didn't know she and Peter were seeing each other.

Horatio: We're well informed now aren't we.

Ryan: I'll bag the frame and give it to Delko. You'll be..

Horatio: Chatting with Ms. Nevins. Keep me posted!

Eric walks out of the bedroom holding what looks like scrapes of paper...

Eric: I found these on the floor by the bed, looks like a ripped up letter. (Eric trying to make out some of the words)

Ryan: Probably a love letter from his girlfriend.(Eric's eyebrow's raised looking at Ryan)

Eric: How'd you figure that?

Ryan:Peter was dating an old friend of ours.

Eric: Who?

Ryan: You wouldn't believe me if I told you.

Eric: Wolfe. Spit it out already!

Ryan: Rebecca Nevins.( Eric grinned in to a big laugh)

Eric: Really.. Wolfe, come on be serious. Rebecca "The Ice Queen" Nevins and Peter! Ha Ha.(Ryan hands him the bagged picture, in which the smile faded from Eric's face) Whoa!

Ryan: Yeah, that's what I said.

Eric: Let me guess. Horatio's talking to her now!

Ryan: Yeah. That can't be a pleasant encounter.

Eric: No encounter is pleasant with that woman.

Back at the lab, Natalia and Calleigh are having a conversation...

Natalia: Oh my God Cal I'm so sorry! (Giving Calleigh a hug) I know you and Peter were good friends. I only knew him briefly, but he seemed like a really great guy.

Calleigh: Yeah he was. I just can't understand why this happened to him! I mean who could he have pissed off so badly?

Natalia: My money would be on Monica, but she's in prison. Being sent to jail by your Fiance would definitely qualify for revenge.

Calleigh: True, but she is a former State Attorney...

Natalia: With a long reach to the outside. But how do we find out who she used? If she's behind this.(Calleigh suddenly remembered something)

Calleigh: Wait.. I got it! (She gets on the computer) Peter gave me a code to the Miami Federal Prison visitors log when he was helping me with a case. (She starts typing in the code)

Natalia: Wow! you're in. Way to go Peter.

Calleigh: Let's just hope this works out.

The log comes up with 13 visitors for inmate #9648392- Monica West.

Calleigh: Okay. We just need to narrow it down.

Natalia: I can tell most of these are family, except... this guy. "Ivan Cornwell".

Calleigh: He visited her 7 times. You're only allowed one visit per day! According to the log he took up all 7 days.

Natalia: That's suspicious. I'll run his stats through CODIS and see what we get. (She types in his name)

Natalia: Oh wow! He has a long list of priors from B&E to arson to assault with a firearm. Also saids he was accused of killing an officer put was released due to insufficient evidence.(Calleigh gets on the phone)

Calleigh: Horatio, It's Calleigh. I got a break in Peter's case.

Horatio: I'm listening.

Calleigh: An ex-con named Ivan Cornwell has been visiting a prisoner in Miami Fed.

Horatio: Who by chance is that?

Calleigh: Peter's former Fiance.

Horatio: Ms. Monica West. Can you get to her?

Calleigh: I'm calling in a favor to do so. I'll keep you posted.

Horatio: Thank You. Ms. Duquesne.

PART 3

Horatio appears in the doorway of Rebecca Nevins's office.

Rebecca: Lieutenant Caine. To what do I owe the pleasure?

Horatio: Ms. Nevins. I assume you've heard about agent Elliott.

Rebecca: Yes. (Shuffling and organizing the papers on her desk)

Horatio: You two were dating?

Rebecca: We were.

Horatio: You... don't seem too broken up by it.

Rebecca: Well you're wrong Lieutenant. I loved Peter very much.(She started fidgeting)

Horatio: Are you nervous about something Ms. Nevins?(Rebecca looking a little shaken, runs her fingers through her hair)

Rebecca: No! I don't know why you would ask me such a...

Horatio: Rebecca. I know you. And we both know nothing makes you nervous. So whats going on? (She hesitatingly starts to say something but her office phone rings, she pushes the speaker...)
Rebecca: Rebecca Nevins.

Caller: I'm coming for you next B*tch!(The caller hangs up)

Horatio: Who was that? (She didn't answer) Rebecca. Rebecca talk to me!

Rebecca: I don't know. I can never make out the voice.(Crossing her arms and pacing)

Horatio: How long has this been going on?

Rebecca: Two days. I told Peter about it but..(She starts to tear up) He told me not to worry about it. That he'll check in to it.

Horatio: You know of anyone who would want to hurt you or agent Elliott?

Rebecca: Danger comes with this job Horatio. I get threats on the regular.

Horatio: Anyone stand out? (She starts remembering)

Rebecca: There's this one guy that threaten me a couple of weeks ago. I sent a relative of his to prison, but I blew it off.

Horatio: What'd he say to you?

Rebecca: Something like..uh.. You cross the line this time. I'll get you for this.

Horatio: You know his name by chance?

Rebecca: Not his name but, I do have the relatives name. Here it is.(She hands him a sheet of paper with a name on it)

Horatio: Dorothy Cornwell. (Recognizing the name immediately) Do you know if this woman was married?

Rebecca: No. Why?

Horatio: Does the name Ivan Cornwell sound familiar to you?

Rebecca: I'm not sure. Horatio, you think this Ivan person killed Peter?

Horatio: I don't know. But he's earned a visit from me.(Horatio puts on his shades as he exits Rebecca's office) I'll keep in touch.

PART 4

Eric and Ryan go through all the evidence collected at the crime scene...

Ryan: Okay, so far we know it wasn't a B&E.

Eric: We also know that Peter knew his attacker, since there's no sign of struggle or defensive wounds.

Ryan: No workable prints found at the scene other than Peter's.

Eric: Don't rule out prints yet. I got Cynthia in QD working on that letter. What about Peter's robe you get anything off it?

Ryan: Yeah. I got this odd substance off it. I'm running it now it should be done.(Ryan goes and picks up the report and reads it) Glucose, cocoa, glyceride and ascomycetous.
Eric: Edible Fungi. (Ryan looked up at Eric)

Ryan: Excuse me?

Eric: Edible Fungi or Black Truffles. They're Calleigh's favorite. Peter must've been eating them before he was killed.

Ryan: How do you know those are Calleigh's favorite?(Looking at Eric suspiciously)

Eric: She told me.(Looking down, not making eye contact)

Ryan: She told you huh?(Ryan cracked a smile)You've got her some before?

Eric: Once. We're friends so what?

Ryan: Nothing. I mean Black Truffles. They sound expensive.

Eric: What's your point?(Eric started to get annoyed)

Ryan: Not exactly your friendship bracelet kinda gift you know.

Eric: Knock it off Wolfe!

Ryan: Dude. I'm just saying.(Eric really getting annoyed now)

Eric: Can we get back to work please?!

Ryan: Yeah. Sure thing Pal.(Ryan looking at Eric, cracking an even bigger smile)

As they go through more of the evidence Eric gets a phone call...

Eric: Delko. Yeah thanks I'll be right there.(Closes his phone) Cynthia's got something off the letter. Can you finish without me?

Ryan: Um.. Yeah go head.

Eric walks into the Questionable Documents lab

were Cynthia had the results from the letter he brought in...

Cynthia: Wow that was fast whatcha do run over here?

Eric: No. I did not. Whatcha got for me. Is it a love letter?

Cynthia: Nope. There's no love in this letter.(She pulls it up on the screen, Eric starts to read it)

Eric: You slut! When I get my hands on you, I'm gonna torture you painfully and very slowly.

Cynthia: Can you say psycho.

Eric: I can assume whoever wrote this didn't sign it.

Cynthia: Not in signature form.(Pulling the letter up some more showing a lone print)

Eric: Wait, I checked this for prints and that wasn't there before!

Cynthia: There's a reason for that. Whoever wrote this used alcohol on there hands.

Eric: Wouldn't the alcohol evaporate before they touched anything?

Cynthia: Normally yes, but this person touched the paper as the alcohol was drying. Leaving this juicy fellow behind.

Eric: Great I'll process it. Thanks Cyn.

PART 6

Horatio & Frank went to pick up Ivan Cornwell at his home just in time...

Horatio: Where you headed friend?

Ivan: Away!(Ivan loading the trunk of his car)

Frank:(Walks towards the car and checked a red duffel bag)That's a Lotta greenbacks. You win the lottery?

Ivan: What's it to ya Kojak?

Frank: look here you little pipsqueak...

Horatio: Frank!( Horatio gives him the calm down look)Mr. Cornwell it seems you have an associate at Miami Feds prison for women, correct?
Ivan: So! (Ivan started to look nervous)

Frank: So, she's a ex-State Attorney and you're cop killer. What's the connection?

CHAPTER ONE

Eric and Calleigh are down by their lockers having a conversation...

Calleigh: So are you picking me up or are we meeting there?

Calleigh: Oooh. Yes Sir! (Smiling, just then Natalia walks in)
Natalia: Hey..guys(She pauses and smiles)Did I interrupt something?

Natalia: Ookay.(She takes her purse out of her locker)Oh Eric, Jenna said there's a message for you at the front desk. I told her I'd tell you before you left.

Eric reaches the the lot where his car is, dialing Alexander's number when all of a sudden someone grabs him from behide. Eric swings around and decks the the stranger in the face, dropping his phone, then tackles the stranger to the ground pulling out his weapon. He I.D's himself and WHAM he's shot with a stun gun, rendering him motionless. He's dragged by two assailants and placed in the back of a black van and driven away.

CHAPTER TWO

Calleigh is waiting on Eric to arrive. She checks her watch and notice it's after 8pm. No Eric?

Calleigh: Where are you?(Thinking to herself, looking at her watch, she decides to call him)
Eric's Cell: Yo! You've reached Delko, I'm not in right now so leave me a message & number and I'll get back to you. BEEP

An hour has went by and still no Eric. Calleigh started to get worried, she calmed herself down grabbed her keys and went back to the last place she'd seen him. Eric wakes up to a brightly lite room and a distorted but distinctive Russian accent..

Calleigh: I don't know but Eric wasn't happy about it. Last thing he said was he's getting some answers from Sharova.
Horatio: Lets find out what Sharova knows.

Horatio: Eric and I both know it well. So are you telling me The Brotherhood has Eric?(Alexander stayed silent)

Calleigh: You listen and hear me clearly. If you know where Eric is you better tell me right now or your risk of talking will be the least of your problems.(He looked at her then at Horatio)
Horatio: I'd answer her if I where you. I've seen her bad side.(Alexander sat back down)
Alexander: You must really care for him..my Son.(Staring up at Calleigh)

Alexander: I will tell all I can.

CHAPTER FOUR

The room is dark and Eric sits waiting for the next move. Wondering what is happening to his Mother.. (Do they have any more of my family? Oh God! what if Calleigh's next..) Just then the door opens...

The Stranger: Git up! (Eric hesitates) I said git up!
Eric: Where is my Mother?(Starring at the man with such malice)
The Stranger: Don' vorry my men are takin good care of her.(He chuckles, Eric jumps at the man hoisting him by the throat)
Eric: If you touch her, if the stiching on her blouse is touched. I'll kill you first! (He feels a jolt in his side and falls to the floor)
Evett: Ah ah Ofeser Delko. I con not ave you harmin my men. You vill be on ur bes be'avyor yes? I con't ear you!(Eric scowls)
Eric: Yeah.
Evett: Good. Take em to ze nex room.(She puts her stun gun back in her holster) You vill ave to escuse my Engleesh, is not so good.
Eric: What the hell do you people want from me.
Evett: Is seemple veally. You ave skill ve need.
Eric: What skill is that?
Evett: Ur undar wata vecovary skill, dar is somting locked avay an you vill git it for us.
Eric: What, Russia run out of scuba divers.
Evett: As I told you be'vor you ave ze skill ve vant.
Eric: Then what. You let me go, you let my Mother go?
Evett: Dat is not up to me.
Eric: Then who the hell is it up to?(Snatching his arm away)
Ivan: I am in charge of your fate and that of your Mother's(Eric couldn't believe his eyes, Ivan Sarnoff a free man?)
Eric: How the the hell did you escape from prison?
Ivan: I never went to prison. You Americans think you know so much. As I told your Lieutenant Caine, I have people who're willing to do anything for me. And if you love your... Mommie is it.(Laughing and mocking Eric) you will do what I ask.
Eric: What am I looking for?(Staring at Ivan with pure hate in his eyes)

Eric: The Golden Cross of Czar? Are you crazy?! That's at the bottom of the Kara Sea. No man can survive that kind of dive.
Ivan: According to your Father you are extraordinary diver, top in your class!
Eric: What are you talking about? Sharova never knew any of that about me.
Ivan: Who said Sharova told me?

CHAPTER FIVE

Horatio and Calleigh went back to where Eric was abducted for a second look...

Horatio: According to Sharova, they're planning to use Eric to retrieve a priceless artifact from the Czar emperor. In the bottom of the Kara Sea.
Calleigh: The temperature in the waters can get down to 60 below.
Horatio: In which hypothermia can set in in minutes.
Calleigh: We've got to find him. (Noticing a dented parking pole) I found something over here.
Horatio: That's black paint transfer.
Calleigh: Could be from the vehicle involved in taking Eric.
Horatio: So could these.(Spotting tire treads) They lead right out that driveway.
Calleigh: From the width of the treads they're too large to be an SUV. More like a commercial or moving van. I'll have Ryan run the stats. (She snaps the pictures and sends them via Hummer Tech) About me and Eric. We... (He interrupts her)
Horatio: Lets not worry about that right now. Okay? (He gives her a smile and she nods back)
Ryan: Based on Calleigh's pics and the treads, this is a 2003 Dodge Cargo van. Which is... unfortunately popular in Miami. (Screen shows 157 results on vehicles of this nature)
Natalia: And it's black which is also popular, but..(Showing him a report) the paint transfer had glitter underneath it.
Ryan: Glitter huh? Lets see how many 03 cargo's been painted in glitter. (He puts in the stats and gets 6 results)
Ryan: Okay 3 are out of business, two are in Palm Beach County and the last one just opened right here in Dade County.
Natalia: Mackie's Party Supply 11401 Bentley Dr. Kendall, FL 33156 It's a start. Shall we?
Ryan: I'll drive.

Natalia and Ryan reached the property and spot a shady looking character lurking around...

Ryan: Excuse me! You work here? (The man doesn't answer; instead he decides to run for it) Hey hey MDPD HOLD IT. (Ryan gives chase he catches the man but at the cost of his pants)
Natalia: Ryan!! RYAN ARE YOU OKAY!! (Her weapon drawn)
Ryan: I'm fine. (The man's on the ground and Ryan is sitting on the guys back)
Natalia: Oh Ryan! What happened to your pants they're a mess. (Giggling a bit)
Ryan: Superman here tried to leap over the fence and I grabbed him. Lets just say our landing was softer than I wanted.(Pointing at the very thick mud puddle at the fence) You know this was a $350 suite buddy.
Natalia: Who are you?
Man: I think I broke my tail bone.
Natalia: We'll get it checked out. Now who are you?
Man: My name is George. I work here.
Ryan: If you work here George, why the hell did you run?
George: I don't have to talk to you! (Getting upset, Ryan pulls George up by the collar)
Ryan: Oh you're gonna talk (Tossing him to a uniformed officer) Make sure you hit every pothole on the way to the station.

A young man comes out of the building yelling demands...

Young Man: What the hell is going on here?
Natalia: Who are you?
Young Man: I am the owner of Mackie's. My name is Dominic Rohn. Where are you going with my driver?
Ryan: Let us worry about him right now. Where are all your vans for your company stored?
Dominic: In my garage why?
Ryan: Can we take a look?
Dominic: What exactly are you looking for?
Natalia: We're led to believe one of you vans was used in the kidnapping of a CSI last night.
Dominic: That's impossible. Come in and check around. I can assure you all my vehicles are...(Dominic stops) One of my vans is gone.
Ryan: Really? How convenient.
Natalia: You don't have security on your property?
Dominic: I just opened here. I haven't had the chance to put up my systems yet.
Ryan: Doesn't seem to be any forced entry. You sure it was stolen?
Dominic: All of ten vans were here last night. I counted them myself.
Natalia: Looks like you miscounted. (Looking down she sees more tire treads) These are identical to Calleigh's pictures.
Ryan: We're gonna go ahead and take all the vans back to our lab.
Dominic: You can't do that without a warrant! (Crossing his arms)
Natalia: You mean like this? (Handing him the warrant) A CSI is missing, you think we didn't come prepared?

Meanwhile Eric is briefly united with his Mother, her clothing's filthy and she's very shaken up...

Eric: Mom are you alright? Did they hurt you?
Carmen: No. I am okay. Eric, I am so sorry.
Eric: Mom, you didn't do anything wrong.
Carmen: This is my fault I pushed your Fath...(He interrupts her)
Eric: Don't worry about it. I'll get us..(She grabs his arm and turns him)
Carmen: No! You will listen to your Mother! (She starts to cry)
Eric: I'm sorry Mommie, please don't cry. Come sit down I'm listening.
Carmen: This man..Ivan.. He was once a friend to your Father a long time ago. Right before you were born. I never trusted him, but your Father said this man was to help us. Well one time he called on your Father in middle of the night for something urgent. That same night your Father came home and said we were going to America at the end of the week. I have to admit I was very happy at this news. I asked your Father how it was possible. He said it was because of Ivan.
Eric: I don't understand. If that's true why was I born in Cuba?
Carmen: I was at my job and I saw Ivan there, talking to Alexander about your Father, something about a cross.
Eric: The Golden Cross of Czar?
Carmen: Yes, that was the name of it. They said it was important that they get that cross. Your Father was very against what they wanted. I told your Father to do whatever it took to get us out of Cuba. I didn't know how selfish I was being, what position I was putting your Father in.
Eric: What did Pop have to do with the cross? (Looking terrified at what the answer would be, Eric braced himself)
Carmen: He would not tell me. But when the end of the week came for us to go, a car pulled up at our home. Your Father went outside and all of a sudden he was shouting and screaming in Russian. The car sped away. He turned and stormed into the house. He said we are not going to America this time but we will get there. And that was the end of it. We got into an argument about what happened but he no longer wanted to talk about it anymore. Until after you were born and we were able to get out of Cuba. Eric, they have your Father here too.
Eric: What the hell is going on?

Eric was confused as to why his Father was involved with Ivan Sarnoff. And does it have anything to do with him being here..

Ivan: You want them to survive, you get that boy of yours to do what I want. You owe me that much.
Pavel: I owe you nothing. I will not force my Son to do anything for you. Bbl Cyk NHCblH, O*Or B aAy(TRANSLATION:You Son of a B*tch, burn in hell)
Ivan: (He picks up a remote to a screen in the room) Old age has made you stupid Pavel. Perhaps this will change your mind.

The screen shows a room with both Eric and Carmen inside. Ivan pushes a button and gas fills the room,

Eric and Carmen began to choke, they both hit the floor...

Ivan: I don't have to tell you what this will do to them. A few minutes of this and they will be dead, DO YOU HEAR ME, DEAD!!!
Pavel: PLEASE STOP IT. DON'T HURT THEM! EOT-MEXAY HAMN!! (TRANSLATION: This is between you and me!!) LEAVE THEM OUT OF THIS!! (Pavel struggles to break free of his captures)
Ivan: You put them in the middle Pavel. If they die, it's on your head! (Carmen passes out as Eric tries to reach her)
Pavel: OKAY!! PLEASE...DON'T HURT MY FAMILY!!
Ivan: I might let your wife go before we leave, but you best convince your boy to retrieve my cross. (Both are unconscious on the floor) Or next time I will use the real thing.

CHAPTER SIX

He's sitting in the chair as Ryan walks in and sits in front of him...

Ryan: So George. Whats the deal hmm? Why sneak if you're an employee?
George: I do not need to explain my reasons to you pig! (Ryan looking at George with a half grin)
Ryan: I gave you a chance. George Cratokavich. Am I pronouncing it right? (The man just stares at Ryan as he continues) B&E, assault & battery, Grand thief. Been a busy boy Georgie. Says here one more incident and it's back to...(Looking through the file) Siberia? Isn't that where they send their most fierce criminals in Russia?
George: Yeah, so! (George shifting in his seat)
Ryan: Somehow Georgie you don't look the type to survive the weather let alone the roommates. But, if you want I can add evading the police on to..(George interrupted)
George: What do you want to know?
Ryan: You're not really a driver for Mackie's are you?
George: Yes, but not for parties.
Ryan: Explain please. (George hesitates and looks around) What is it George? I know you work for Ivan Sarnoff. Where's Officer Delko? (George hesitated) Come on Georgie, talk!!
George: I don't know where he is at this moment.
Ryan: Then where did you drop him off? George. George you okay? Hey, hey what's wrong with you?

George began to sweat and suddenly he go's into convulsions, slams to the floor....

Ryan: Oh my God! George hang on. I NEED A MEDIC IN HERE NOW! (It's too late he dieds in Ryan's arms)

Ryan walks in to the morgue, hoping Alexx has some answers to what just happened...

Alexx: How ya holdin' up Baby?
Ryan: (He sighs) I don't know what to say. I mean the guy just... died. He didn't look sick.
Alexx: He wasn't. (She holds up a device burned with flesh and blood)
Ryan: Alexx what the hell is that? (Starring blankly at the object)
Alexx: If I didn't know better I say it's a pacemaker but it's too big, but whatever it was it fried his insides. (Ryan looking astounded)
Ryan: Where was it located?
Alexx: Now that's the weird part, it was strapped to his heart...With this? (Holding up a what looks like string)
Ryan: Is that dental floss or string?
Alexx: Honey! That's your department. (Dropping the items in an evidence bag and handing it to Ryan)

Ryan runs test on the objects in the lab and came out with disturbing results...

Horatio: Mr. Wolfe. What do we have?
Ryan: Well this was found in George's chest strapped to his heart.
Horatio: What is that?
Ryan: a smoke detector or sweat detector in George's case.
Horatio: Elaborate please.
Ryan: It's used to detect how much you sweat under pressure, see these prongs? They're hooked up to some sort of charge device. The more you sweat the higher the charge. George overloaded which caused the detector to fry his heart.
Horatio: Can we track where the charge signal was coming from?
Ryan: Yeah, I'm feeding the info into the computer now it show be coming up. Horatio the address.
Horatio: I see Mr. Wolfe. Looks like someone's going out of business. (He puts on his shades and they head for the door)

CHAPTER SEVEN

Calleigh and Natalia are interrogating Dominic on his shady business...

Natalia: Who are you working for?
Dominic: I work for myself. I sell Party supplies, you know streamers, balloons that kind of stuff.
Calleigh: What category does this fall under? (She slides the picture of the device found in George)
Dominic: I don't know what that is.
Calleigh: Of course you do, Dominic. You used it to kill George Cratokavich, the transmitter you so smartly left at your store ties you to it.
Natalia: We got DNA and a print off of it. Bet we take samples from you and they match. (Dominic runs his fingers thru his hair)
Calleigh: You knew George would crack when we put him in custody. So you had to shut him up!
Dominic: You don't understand. I had no choice. It was either him or me so!
Calleigh: Where is CSI Eric Delko? (Dominic pauses)
Dominic: If I tell you I'm dead!
Natalia: You're dead already. They know you're here, even if you keep quiet. There's a bullet waiting for you the minute you leave.
Calleigh: Tell me where he is. I can see about getting you protection.
Dominic: Protection!! Yeah right. There is nothing you can do to protect me.
Calleigh: Then help me! Tell me where I can find him. (At this point she's leaning toward him)
Dominic: Airport Marina. Headed toward Europe, The Kara Sea.They're to leave at 6pm.
Natalia: Calleigh, it's 5:23 now. We need to go. I'll call Horatio.
Dominic: When your CSI completes what they need him to do, they will kill him.
Calleigh: Not if I can stop it.

Calleigh and Horatio race to the Marina in the hummer at top speed lights and sirens blazing.

As they reach the docks as the boat plane is taking off.

Calleigh is the first out of the car and runs toward the end of the dock...

Calleigh: NO!! ERIC!! ERIC!!
Horatio: CALLEIGH WAIT!!
Ivan: (looks down and sees Calleigh) Hurry get this thing in the air NOW!! (Eric and his parents are unconscious)
Pilot: I'm trying. Be patient.
Evett: (Puts the gun to the pilot's head) Git it oof ze ground now!

The plane takes off and Calleigh is too late.

She screams Eric's name to no avail. Horatio gets to the control tower and takes charge...

Horatio: I need a bird in the air ASAP. My CSI is on that plane I need to get him back right now. (Calleigh reaches the tower)
Operator: We don't have any pilots available.
Calleigh: Fine! Get me a chopper and I'll fly it myself. (Almost on the verge of tears)
Horatio: (Looking at her with concern) Calleigh I need you to calm down, without a pilot, there's nothing we can do at this point.
Calleigh: Horatio, I can't just sit here while those Son of B*tches have Eric.
Horatio: Calleigh! You do realize without a license you can't get in the air.
Calleigh: Eric taught me to fly and helped me get my license early this year so I want to do this!
Horatio: Okay then... Let's fly!

CHAPTER EIGHT

Calleigh and Horatio finally get in the air. Calleigh's at the controls. Keeping in contact with ground control on the co-ordinates of the Boat plane carrying Eric and his parents...

Operator: This is Ground Control. We have the coordinates on the waterbird headed east.
Horatio: Go ahead I'm listening.
Operator: They are exactly 25 kilometers ahead. You're over the Grand Bahamas Freeport boarder.
Horatio: Thank you Ground Control. Calleigh you see that. (Pointing ahead) There they are, can you move in closer?
Calleigh: Yeah, I can get underneath. (She maneuvers the chopper and gets under the plane)
Horatio: Move up a bit and keep it steady. (Unbuckling his seat belt, he puts on a parachute)
Calleigh: What are you gonna do?
Horatio: Help them with their emergency landing. (Horatio aims his weapon at the fuel nozzle) If I can hit the nozzle, the fuel will get low enough they'll be forced to land. (He fires. Careful not to hit the tank, the nozzle fly's off and starts to leak) Gotcha!

Eric and his parents are tied to their seats, barely conscious he begins to stir..

Ivan hears a loud beeping noise and sends Evett to investigate...

Evett: Wat is dat beeping sound?
Pilot: We're losing fuel! (Suddenly the plane starts to lose altitude, it jerks right sending Evett flying)
Ivan: What the hell is going on up there? (He moves toward the cockpit)
Pilot: We gotta land.
Ivan: No! We must make it to the Kara coast!
Pilot: We won't make it pass the next mile if we don't land now!! (Ivan notices Evett out on the floor)
Ivan: Evett! Can you hear me, wake up! (At this point Eric is awake, untied and aware of what's going on)
Eric: (Taking the opportunity to revive his parents) Mom, Pop wake up, come on wake up. I gotta get you guys off this plane.
Pavel: Son I'm so sorry for this! (Eric puts his hand on his Father's shoulder)
Eric: Pop, my main concern is you and Mom. Don't worry! (Looking at the cockpit, he realized the gun in Ivan's belt is his own) Stay here I'll be back.
Pavel: 6yAbTe OCtOpxHlb mon CbiH (TRANSLATION: Be careful my Son)
Eric: R 6yAy nana (TRANSLATION: I will pop)(He gets close to Ivan)
Eric: IVAN!! (Ivan looks up) WHAM!! (Eric drops him to floor, picks up his gun turns to the pilot) Land NOW!!

The plane jerks again, tossing Eric back..

Eric: What are you doing I said land!
Pilot: I'm trying but we're out of fuel, oh my God we're gonna crash!! I'm gonna die!!
Eric: Hey, hey. (He grabs the pilot) Calm down. Listen to me there's a landing strip right below us okay? Steer towards it.
Pilot: It's too short we'll slide right into the ocean.
Eric: It's a chance we have to take.

Suddenly the plane takes a nose dive at 60mph directly at the short landing strip. Evett comes to and tries to attack Eric with her stun gun, but he sees her coming and counter attacks. As they struggle the plane hits the ground sending everyone inside flying and as the pilot predicts the plane slides into the water...

FINAL CHAPTER

Calleigh lands the chopper and she and Horatio jump out running toward the spot where the boat plane went into the water. It's dark and there's no sign of the passengers...

Calleigh: ERIC! ERIC! (Screaming into the darkness)
Horatio: Coast Guards on their way. Calleigh we'll find him don't worry okay! (Coast Guard shows up and they're already pulling someone out of the water but it's not Eric...)
Calleigh: Oh God! Horatio, where is he?! (She's pacing back and forth staring out at the water)
Horatio: This is Eric we're talking about. He can out swim subs. He'll make it out. I know he will. (The thought of losing Eric was overwhelming) I lost one Brother, I don't want to lose another.

Coast Guard pulls out three more people, two men and one woman. Calleigh recognized the woman as Eric's Mom She's crying as one of the paramedics tries to revive one of the men..

Calleigh: It's not him. Where is Eric? Why haven't they found him yet? GOD PLEASE!! (Horatio holds her as she breaks down)

Coast Guard pulls out one last person, but they put a cover over the body meaning that one is dead.. The Coast Guard reaches land and Calleigh runs to the boat to see if Eric is one of the survivors...

Captain: These are all the passengers we found on that boat plane Lieutenant Caine. (Horatio looked under the sheet, surprised it was Ivan, relieved it wasn't Eric)
Horatio: Captain are you absolutely sure you look over the entire plane.
Captain: Absolutely sir there are no more survivors on that plane, these are the only people we got out of the water. (Calleigh put her hands on her head and screamed)
Calleigh: NO! NO! YOU GET BACK OUT THERE AND YOU FIND HIM! (Pointing at the Captain)
Horatio: Calleigh please calm down.. (She snatches away from him still screaming) Cal.
Calleigh: HE'S NOT DEAD!! YOU HEAR ME HE'S NOT DEAD. I KNOW HE'S NOT. (she cries uncontrollably)
Horatio: Calleigh, Cal listen to me okay. Just listen, they're going to have to change this to a recovery mission. (With tears in his eyes he could hardly believe the words actually coming out of his mouth)
Calleigh: Horatio, in my heart, my soul tells me he's alive. (sobs) He's alive please..(She looks out to the water and she sees a dark figure struggling to stay afloat. Her heart leapt)
Calleigh: Eric! ERIC!! (she runs, jumps into the water and swims to him) I'm coming Eric hold on.
Eric: Calleigh..
Calleigh: I'm here, I got you!
Eric: My parents?!
Calleigh: They're fine and headed to the Hospital, I gotta get you out of this water.

Calleigh and Eric reach the docks and are helped out of the water,

Paramedics check Eric out and he has a large gash over his left eyebrow...

EMT: Okay no water log, everything seems to be fine. With an accident like that you're luck to survive.
Eric: I had a reason to survive. (Looking up at Calleigh, he puts his hand on her face and pulls her into a passionate kiss)
Calleigh: I thought I lost you!
Eric: Can't get rid of me that easy.
Calleigh: I Love you, Eric Delko.
Eric: I Love You Calleigh Duquense. (They kiss and hug each other)
Horatio: (Ahem) It's good to see you buddy! (Smiling at Eric, shaking hands then giving each other a Brotherly hug) Glad you're alright.
Eric: Same here. (Smiling back at Horatio)
Calleigh: Let's get out of here. You still owe me dinner, you know. (Wrapping her arms around him)
Eric: Why don't I make you dinner at home. I've had enough outside adventures for one day.
Calleigh: Whatever you want.

Backstory: Eight months before she was introuced to the show, she was diagnosed with cancer. When her brother, a CSI, Eric Delko, got busted for marajuana, she went to Horatio and explained what he was doing it for. Believeing her, he cleared everything up and Eric went back to his job.

A few episodes later, she was picked up by patrol on a drug bust and Horatio again cleared everything, telling her that it could not happen again. It never did.

Over time, a love spark formed between Horatio and Marisol, much to Eric's worry. Although he wasn't always supportive of Horatio and Marisol's desicion, he tried to be as calm as possible.

Between the episodes of "Shock" and "Rampage" she and Horatio got married, only for Marisol to be murdered by Antonio Riaz.

Work: When she met Horatio, she told him she couldn't work because of the cancer, but in a later episode, she said she had to go because she had to get to work.

It is still unclear as to what she did for a living.
