weight gain?

Has anybody else noticed, especially ever since Power Trip (in the opening scene where he's walking toward Horatio from his car), Ryan (Jonathan) is looking a little... stockier? Hefty, maybe? He's not fat by any means, but he looks way more filled out than he has in previous seasons. And in this last episode on 2/9/09, I swear to God I noticed a bit of a stomach protrusion when he's talking to Horatio about his suspension for "police brutality". Is anyone else seeing this?

Don't get me wrong... he is still fantastically beautiful, and I actually prefer his new look with the fuller body and the slicked back hair to his boyish looks in earlier seasons. He looks great, just wondering if I'm imagining it. 4  out of 4 found this valuable. Do you?

Yeah I've noticed a little bit of a stomach too, but like you said....he is still fantastically beautiful, and the way he looks now? I simply love it, as he really filled out great. Do you find this valuable?

Yeah I know what you mean. I've noticed it too but his beautiful face does help that your mind off it! :D Do you find this valuable?

Hi yes i commented to hubby the other week that i thought jonathan togo has put on weight, i remember him looking quite slender when he arrived at the lab in uniform telling horatio he'd like a job in the lab. Sue Davies 0  out of 1 found this valuable. Do you?

You must not have seen the final episodes of season 8,or seen pictures taken during the filming of season 9 premiere.He is very slim now.

Hi greatfan thanks will do, ryan is growing on me a bit though horatio is my favourite. Funny but when ryan had a nail in his eye alexx kept on at him to get the infection now he's nagging natalia to get her hearing sorted. We've got seasons 1-7 on dvd and will get season 8 when available which i think comes out on dvd in october. Sue Davies Do you find this valuable?

I don't think anything of Ryan keeping on Natalia to get her hearing checked.People often don't do what they need to for their own health because of fear,they don't want bad news and that's what I saw with Ryan.On the other hand,people have no problem telling others what they think should be done health wise.Natalia initally didn't get her hearing checked out for the same reason Ryan didn't have his vision checked,neither one wanted bad news and someone else had to tell them to take action.It sometimes takes a friend to point out what you don't want to hear. Do you find this valuable?

Hi greatfan i agree sometimes it doe take a friend at times to point out what you dont want to hear. I did feel that when ryan was keeping on with natalia he didnt himself practice what he was preaching, it was ok to dish out advice when he wasnt prepared to take it himself. We discovered csi miami by accident a few years ago when we were on holiday in scarborough yorkshire we put the tv on at 9pm and were going through the channels and thought this looks good it was the one where there was a sniper on the roof killing people at random and we havent missed an episode since, we have seasons 1-7 on dvd and will before long get season 8 on dvd. I don't know if I agree that Ryan wasn't prepared to take advice himself,he wasn't going though anything at the time he was giving Natalia advice so what advice would he need to take?If he were having problems and not following advice while giving someone else advice,then it could be said he doesn't practice what he preaches.Because he wasn't going through anything at the time he was giving Natalia advice,there was no need to practice what he preached,Ryan had his problem several years ago,not now so it really doesn't apply. Ryan could dish out advice because he had been through it(which was the point I was making),he knew the fear Natalia was feeling because a health problem could interfere with her career.Alexx pointed out that Ryan needed to take care of his problem,Ryan in turn pointed out that Natalia needed to take care of hers because he learned from his own experience.Sorry to go on so much,but I find that viewers will criticise either the show or a character about something that happened several years ago. Ryan's eye problem occured in season 4,so I really don't see how it can be said he isn't practicing what he preaches in season 8 since there appears to be no problem with his eyes for right now. Do you find this valuable?

Hi greatfan yes i see your point, ryan did have experience and learned from his so therefore he didnt want natalia to put off getting sorted, it makes sense i wasnt best pleased when ryan dobbed tara price in for stealing drugs but there again it could have had serious consequences had he not, also julia was being blamed for something she hadnt done, i think ryan is doing a good job and looks out for the others which is being part of a team, interesting that horatio took ryan into his confidence when we were all led to believe he'd been shot dead. That's exactly what I was saying.As far as Tara,Ryan did what needed to be done.There could have been very serious consequences,for one,it could have affected some of their cases.Like you said,Julia was being blamed,and look how she reacted to that. Ryan did give Tara a chance to straighten things out herself,but she didn't.He did exactly what he should have done.I never understood why there were some that was upset at his actions,what Tara did was against the law.
As far as Horatio taking Ryan into his confidense,I think it was because Horatio had helped Ryan get back on the team, and Ryan had told him he would never forget that.Ryan would do what Horatio wanted and Horatio counted on Ryan doing just that without question.He wouldn't try to talk him out of it etc.I do wish the writers would have made that clear,I don't think they did a good job with that situation.Strangely,I knew the entire thing was a setup from the start,and I knew Ryan helped Horatio.
And of course we have gotten way off topic,LOL. Do you find this valuable?

Hi greatfan, yes i thought horatios death was a set up too i didnt believe he was dead. I think ryan did exactly the right thing in reporting tara price, some said to me what did it matter if she stole drugs from the dead but it was still a criminal offence and she could have missed something vital during an autopsy.
